I have a fairly new pair of 8" mock toes that are broke in. What I have found with these is that #1: when breaking them in, wear a padded sock. #2: if you are using them for work, take a pair of sneakers with you because they will wear you out until they are fully broke in. #3: don't try putting insoles in these, they have a cork sole like Birkenstocks that require your foot to contact it. Mine took about 3 weeks to break in and I used the leather cream that RedWing gave me in store. It softens the leather and allows the leather to stretch around your foot. Once broke in, the leather will form to you and only you. And, the leather keeps changing color with time. They are a full leather boot.

Good video! I agree. I own a pair...very tough break in, and I don’t really like working in them because they get a bit uncomfortable on a 8-10 hour day on hard cement floors. But an incredibly well built high quality boot.

what’s more popular the 877 or the 875?
@averagejoe41018 ай бұрын
Personal preference. I have 877’s, Not everyone has the patience to lace them up. Which is why I like them

From what I see here in the KZbin ... 875 are the most popular Red Wing .

Redwings can take 3-4 months to break in. After that they’ll be formed to your foot and the real leather will be the most comfortable boot you’ll wear

Good review. The old moc toe you show doesn't look like the owner took very good care of conditioning the leather and it's WAAAAY past due for a resole.

Ironically, he’s had them resoled multiple times but I can certainly say he didn’t take care of the upper 😂

I really appreciate your take on sizing. Im not an adherent of CBW (Conventional Boot Wisdom), where it seems the goal is to be as uncomfortable as possible to prove a point. If going true to Brannock size is a tad too big for a particular shoe, wear heavier socks or wear an added insole. Your feet will thank you when you get to be as old as I am.

I always wear these with a heavier sock 🤝🏾🤝🏾that’s some great advice right there

Sounds like you need a size 9 wide if the 8.5 fit you. The 9.5 is going to be way to long

Comparing red wings to doc martens it’s a blasphemy
@kreativekloth Жыл бұрын
Being that I never heard of red wings until two years ago is my only comparison so that’s why I say that…
@Softw4re Жыл бұрын
I'm suprised to hear that it was easier to break in than doc Martin's considering docs have more flexible leather and the soles are very soft versus the redwings with leather sole materials.
