Thans for this video. I also adapt old vintage lenses.

As an old curmudgeon photographer from the film days, I love adapting vintage lenses and some modern manual versions to mirrorless digital camera bodies. Being able to focus the lens manually and having the aperture ring on the lens just feels natural to me. Aside from the cost savings, the old lenses seem better built and don't fail as easily as those with motors in them. Micro Four Thirds cameras have an advantage when it comes to adapting lenses because they have a shorter flange distance than most other systems. This allows the adapters to just act as "spacers" with a few electrical contacts (when desired) without requiring additional lenses in the light path. Adapters help photographers use a camera body they may like without having to buy all new lenses.

That super shallow and wide Z mount allows so many lenses to be adapted. But I will take full advantage of it with the Nikon Z lenses myself.

So I can use just about any lens on a Nikon Z body, except a flipin actual Nikon AF-D lens, which won't autofocus 😭

haha I don't have any AF-D lenses but yeah, pretty everything now. I am going to check out some EF Pro-grade 'L' series lenses that are selling cheap these days. If they all work, I can have some awesome glass for a fraction of the price if I have to buy the new Z or RF full frame versions.

Your three favourite EF lenses are precisely those I like the best.

This is a great device but my query is will it still work woth futire firmware updates by Nikon.

My advice is that, well, depends on your collection of lenses, don't upgrade firmware straight away, wait a while until most people test it first. I didn't upgrade my Zf firmware until yesterday after googling around. So my adaptors still work :D
