Good video. Really important to know that the portals are not greased. That'd be something basically every owner should be looking to do. Easy enough to apply.

I have heard mixed stories . . Some say the diff gears are dry and no grease also . . I have had a Everest 10 in past that hd no grease in diffs but others new from the box did have grease . . It is either quality issue or possibly different shifts building or different factories producing to different specs . . Always a good habot toncheck the diffs, portals and the transmission gears

OMG.... Where was this video when I had to assemble my Gen 7 Beta Portal Axle update kit?? It was heck figuring out how the CV joints got assembled. With no instructions it took me a bit figuring out the bearing covered the pin to hold it all together. I made a homebrew YT video, but not to this quality.. LOL... Great video and illustration. These are exactly the same Beta Portal axles (with update) as my Gen 7. They have held up great and very happy with them.

I have heard different stories between the diffs, portals and having grease . . Some have been dry and others have grease . . Always a good habit to check the portals, diffs and transmission gears for grease

What's the part number for the ball stud (metal) that connects the lower part of the shock? I need that to rebuild my rear end.

I broke a portal shaft I'm pretty sure and mine is definitely not just sliding right out. I don't know what to do right now.

Scintering in not the process of having a gear fit onto a shaft a certain way, that's just how it was machined or molded. Scintering is the process of using extreme pressure and heat on a powdered material without melting the material to form a solid mass. Great video btw.!! Can't waite to get my truck in.

I’m aware of how sintering works, not sure of what part in the video you’re referring to.

@@HarleyDesignsInc Just go to 2:18...Im not nit picking just pointing out that because a gear and shaft fit a certain way doesn't mean that they are sintered.

How similar are the Redcat portal cases to the cases of the Traxxas and if close can the brass portal cases be used ?

I can say the engineering to this is almost the same with how premium vanquish products and others are engineered. yet they just asked 300usd.

That would be an easy point to argue against. They made some definite design mistakes that will hurt the long term ability to handle power. Now if they did that to cut costs or just due to inexperience is the question.

Umm.... Yes they are 100% if you have the Beta Portals with the latest update kit. Without the update kit, then you are correct. But with the update kit they are in fact the same axles in every way.
