One could argue that this is also the conflict of Uther as a ruler and a conquerer. Maybe even subtle foreshadowing that without his kingdom (shield) to protect him and vice versa, Uther could've gotten himself killed at a far earlier date.

If she was more seen in Merlin I think she might have been my favourite villain. ALthough Aredian and Morgana were nice. I find Aredian as man doing his job and Morgana as a martyr of Camelon. Nimueh wanted vengeange but rightfully so.

I mean that guy was ruthless BUT his job was to find people with magic and he worked fr a bit and was like "its obvious, Merlin, Morgana and Gaius have magic" meaning he was damn good at his job.

He was obviously strong and a capable leader and as mentioned in the series he won tournament's in his younger days but his weakness also stated in the series was his footwork so most likely wouldnt of beat Arthur but it wouldn't be easy for Arthur either my opinion haha.

I recently binge watched this show (finished all five seasons in less than two weeks.) one thing I love about the show us the straight up brutality of the swordsmanship. No flash, no spinning in circles with the sword, no stick tappimg. Just straight up fighting and looking for a chance to kill your opponent. Felt very legit

Uther was always badass when it came to saving his son. This fight also when he fought the assassin who came to kill Arthur but ended up killing Uther. Also when he had just been mentally tortured by Morgana then ran out to be on the front lines of the siege. Another thing was when he stopped Arthur from marrying that Avalon girl who was tryna sacrifice him.

I'm only up to episode 9 right now, but why does Uther seem like a fool and he's inconsistent, he's ok sentencing a kid to death under the pretences of banned magic use but as soon as Arthur fights literally anything he's a coward. Uther is a horrible king nobody should make decisions out of fear and prejudice it's pure lunacy. Like with every species on this planet, there is good and evil, one bit of evil shouldn't speak for the masses.

If you are complaining about the lack of armour on Uther and knights in Camelot just remember this is supposed to be based on the 13th century. There might be a few pieces of armour in the show that come in the future (Morgause 's armet) but they probably ran out of equipment or something.

The only thing that was good about Uther was that he was a great warrior (apparently a prodigy) and a good leader for battles, but up to that point, afterwards he was a complete garbage person, I hope Merlin hasn't saved him so much, he was too generous with uther and with modred don't even mention it.

I disagree. Apart from his stance on magic, Uther was actually a very good king. The kingdom was prosperous and Uther protected them well. He also loved Arthur and Morgana, and also signed peace treaties with Bayard and the 5 Kings.
