We need a comeback mechanic for old characters, like a way to upgrade their damage more based on how old they are, seele hasn't appeared since 1.4 and if they rerun her like she is right now, she will be really ignored and many new players will be disappointed by her lack of use for nearly all game modes.

@@Rock-vk9ei Of course you can invest in her, the problem comes from the lack of synergies with other units, she's the definition of hypercarry, but doesn't have any mechanic that makes her stand out, no follow-ups nor break. It's really problematic to have a character that has her full potential behind oneshoting small enemies (something that's impossible when enemy HP is scaling each patch). Why would someone pull for a character that's so niche when her banner will be next to characters that with minimum investment will provide more than her at full investment. Blade will get a comeback, his HP manipulation mechanic will be used eventually, we only need the correct supports. We can't have a dedicated seele support because it will buff everyone else since she doesn't have a niche.

There’s a reason why she can still 0 cycle at low cost for basically every non-shared hp MoC, especially PF. It’s strange how such a basic kit has such a high skill ceiling. You’re coping tbh. Blade’s buffs will more likely come in the form of better matchups, rather than dedicated supports. Not every character needs a dedicated support. Seele is one such character.

I personally disagree that he’ll be replaced anytime soon. Putting aside the fact that a lot of Anglaea showcases unrealistic investment and a heavily tailored upcoming MoC blessing that basically hides all her current issues, his multipliers have definitely held up even against top tier characters like Acheron who is considered a flexible and strong dps now with Jiaoqiu. To make a character with even more ludicrous buffs would be unhealthy in a game trying to prevent powercrept, despite people complaining about powercreep, there’s a lot of circumstantial evidence that debunks this. Firefly was only seen as broken because we had a MoC stage where we were constantly fighting against Past, Present, Future, an enemy so nakedly obviously tailored for her AoE break play style that artificially boosted her performance rate to a ludicrous degree. If not tailored enemies, we also have break effect buffs courtesy of Rappa which is also why Rappa and Lingsha seemed to perform so well despite not being that great outside of more niche scenarios. People like to say Jingliu and Blade have “fallen off” but literally look at their best teammates. Jingliu has Ruanmei as her best teammate next to Jiaoqiu, both kits which she cant use to full effect. With Sunday’s release, she’s still getting better buffs but at least one of her enhanced skills will not be buffed which is like over 50% of her dmg. Similarly with Blade who’s still performing decently well but we have almost no hp buffers and lackluster dmg bonus buffers that also buff his FUA. Jingyuan is merely one of the 1.X characters finally get a dedicated support that others have had since release. Firefly had all her best teammates on release. Feixiao as well. Rappa and Boothill are getting Fugue and Boothill is getting double his bis teammates in one patch. For the older doses, it was dps first and now Hoyo is releasing their dedicated supoorts with time. Acheron wasn’t considered S tier until she got S1 or E2, all of which were solved once we got Jiaoqiu who acted as pseudo-E2. Basically, this is Honkai Support Rail. Any patch where they want to see you the character will be favored and anyone with more dedicated supports wins above all.

Jingliu and Blade's problems is that their native multipliers are really quite low. Blade's power budget was diverted into making him tanky, which was only valuable in the early game when everyone's sustain options were trash, and Jingliu's power budget was diverted into self-buffs, which have just gotten more and more diluted as limited harmonies came out. Their kits were clearly designed for a different, less mature meta, and you can therefore see exactly why they "fell off". Jing Yuan has always had high multipliers held back by clunky mechanics, which is why Sunday fixing his mechanics was such a transformative buff. A good way for a support to bring Jingliu back into the light would be a Shenhe/Yun Jin/Xianyun type buffer who adds flat damage that is affected by Jingliu's self-buffs.

And my theory is, she will give 3 different type buffs (her character has 3 faces) considering their placement in the team. for example: you put blade in the 1 slot, and jingliu in the second, tribbie in the third, than she will teamwide buff from her skills and give each placement different buffs, like hp buff for the character in the 1 position, and dmg% for jingliu in the second, also having some aggro for chars on 1 slot (blade), would be nice, and tribbie's buff scaling of team hp changes.

He definitely got the biggest W out of all 1.0 dps units. He is currently on the same level, or at least close to Acheron, and is placed pretty high in tier lists. I can imagine many don't realize how strong he got because I see people playing his team wrong all the time, including a clip from this video (at 5:12, should've used Robin ult after lighting lord). His kit design is pretty simple but his team makes his gameplay a little bit complicated. I'm proud that I 0 cycled moc 12 with Jing Yuan. He may get power crept but if he becomes unviable then that means characters like Feixiao, Firefly, Acheron will become unviable too which is unlikely to happen so I'm not really worried about his future. He'll always be at least decent in PF with lighting weakness, and probably in MOC too.

I have to slightly disagree with the “AoE or Single Target” take. Him having Blast and AoE makes him pretty flexible, and I can use him in any gamemode and he’ll do just fine. Jing Yuan can work with other Erudition units like Jade since he has AoE. The LL has a 660% ATK scaling on a single target. In a 2 target situation, the LL can get up to 825% scaling (including blast at E0). This is pretty high even by 2.7 standards especially for a 1.0 character. And honestly, I like it that way. Erudition units like Rappa and Jade are very AoE-centric, but they aren’t at their full potential in non-AoE or Single Target content. Whereas pure Blast/Single Target characters don’t do so well in AoE situations (there are exceptions but I’m referring to the general group) such as DHIL or Jingliu. Of course, it’s just my own preference. I like using Jing Yuan in all 3 combat modes so Sunday is a huge godsend. I even managed to 0 cycle with him for the first time at 7 cost vs Svarog (5 cost 0 cycle vs Svarog is achievable, there is a video on bilibili, but unfortunately I’m too bad at the game lol)

Even just ONE enemy increases the LL Splash Damage and gets to a potential 990% around three targets, more if you consider JY's E1 increasing the multiplier of LL's SplashDamage. He is designed to fight hordes of Enemies.

6:00 actually, regarding Lingsha, I think Sunday is actually pretty viable on her team specifically if you also get Fugue. Fugue's main buff is allowing a designated character to become a colorless breaker while still enabling Super Break damage (if at lesser strength than HMC). Lingsha turns into an AOE colorless break menace that also effectively negates debuffs as a concept for her team due to how often her summon is taking action. Really playing up that "Secret Healer Erudition" thing she's got going. Niche, but neat. (I'm still probably skipping Fugue tho)

They solved 1/2 of his biggest problems, but it's still attached to a seperate premium 5 star character. Linghsa and Topaz build action advance into their kits without outside help. And they don't pass CC onto their summons, which JY can downplay but solve with fu xuan or aventurine. So while he is buffed, he's also now a super premium character who needs at least 2 limited 5 stars to prop him up to just how the other summon units work on their own. They should have just bitten the bullet and buffed him directly, while retroactively making all 3 units considered as memosprites for 3.0.

LL 660%*1.4 (5 eneies avg modifier)= 924% If add everything up, we end up with a nice 2924% multiplier And he can do it twice instantly with Robin and Huehue. This is how he's matching Acheron and beating Himeko-Herta in 5 enemy dps races. I consider Jingyuan's kit as "fundamentally flawed" rather than "badly designed". What's the difference? Badly designed kit is a kit that doesn't synergize with the other parts for their kit. It either lack synergy with other characters or using a certain part of their kit just ruins the damage entirely. Badly designed characters have no way of fixing their terrible kit. Example of badly designed is Arlan. Fundamentally flawed kit is a okay to great kit hindered by one flawed aspect that is instrumental to their performance. Like playing a drum with padded sticks, still make sounds but wouldn't it be better if the pads werent there? That's Jingyuan's kit: It only have one problem: LIGHTNING LORD IS TOO SLOW. So when hsr introduced the solution: A summon advancer, Jingyuan was suddenly fixed.

I'm not a fan of hoyo completely ignoring reworks in favor of adding new characters to empower older ones, from a a business standpoint, people are more likely to spend money on a new character, but there's some older characters whos kits just can't be fixed by new ones without a rework

Ngl this is just wishful thinking (because it will probably change how Jingyuan works) but with your comments about Jingyuan doesn't benefit from having more enemies, they could make it so players can pick which enemies would be prioritized based on how you want his LL (lightning lord) to attack, like feixiao's ult where you can choose either her breaking efficiency, or dmg focused. His LL is a turn where he can pick specific enemies to hit, and there'll be a marker on how much his LL would be hitting, like archeron's showing her ult marker thing. Or they could just change his LL priority and prioritize high-hp enemies instead (ex. it'll guarantee to use LL 50% stacks into highest hp stat on an enemy, but the remaining 50% will be spent on randomly)

I've been clearing endgame since 1.0 missing 1 star on highest 2 floors and a couple stars on PF4 and AS4. That's perfectly good enough. My DPSs besides JY are Blade, Boothill and IL. "Bad" and "fell off" are literally labels fabricated by 0.01% of the playerbase, never intended to be relatable and should not be the standard of comparison for a usual player. It's like if in real life everyone was supposed to be able to run a marathon or else be shunned by society. Stop spreading distorted ways of thinking

I will say it right now,he's still a terrible character and the fact that you must have another limited 5 star to make him even work says it all,like he does not compare to a character like firefly or feixiao who can literally build an absolutely free team and work perfectly fine

Robin ult, increasing Feixiao ult damage by basically twice by the virtue of her having pretty low base atk stat, would kindly disagree that Fei is absolutely f2p friendly, especially considering how her better sustains (so any that has fua to make her ult stacking more consistent) are Lingsha and Aventurine, who both are also limited character. To put it simply, having limited 5* being a best suited support for another limited 5* is just how things are in HSR, Sunday brings an insane improvement for JY, that's true, but not like other limited 5*s are any less relevant on premium support options, with only exception being that Moze actually can substitute for Topaz in fua team, but you'll unlikely to find another supports as good for her as Robin and Aven/Lingsha
