I think they are fuelling some of the some of the issues as they are not doing a good enough job pushing back. Even today's question was framed in a stupid way - of course its not entirely the International Students fault - but they are responsible none the less. On top - the callers admit that they hire their own. The problem is - Canadians know their rights and can't and won't be exploited. Immigrants don't know their rights and are exploited - they are not hard working - they are exploited. If one is doing the job of 2-3 people - means she is underpaid.

So many employers complaining about local people, well that’s not how country works. The reason we left India is Slavery is still legal in India hence balance is the key. There are 2 parties to be blamed here, government and employers who misused students. International students are innocent. Employers should only be allowed to hire 20% of there workforce as TFW Rest should be locals. These employers are selling LMIA’s which is unethical, all SUBWAYS should be investigated.

Still, if they are not scared to do something beyond their limitations we should be proud of them. People were getting visas after finishing high school- it was due to the government's need. During the past few years, the government might needed people with strong physical strength rather than having mere soft skills. Now the situations are different. So every sector of society has its own potential. The government is using us according to their needs. Calling someone inferior never justifies the solution to the problem. By the way, I got 9 bands in reading, thanks to my medical background and I developed reading skills. Though, I struggled in the writing section🤣

Employers dnt want to hire the PRs of Canada as they are not willing to pay full and to entitle them all the benefits. Within a single PR pay scale, they have hired 2-3 students on job and thus exploiting the Canadian residents. Might they have forgot their days when they migrated to Canada to start a new life. Punjabi employers are mostly exploiting their own community, by not giving the chance to skilled Punjabi people and replacing their place with the temporary workers and students who are even wiling to do job on even 10 dollar per hour. In this case, the students, as they are breaking the market pay scale just to get job, are responsible.

I think the only concern is that these students and even when they work full time later, are going to burn themselves out because they would always be expected to work more. Work life balance is important. Although no doubt desi people work extremely hard but i hope they are not exploited since in desperate times there is always somebody to replace you. There shall be no discrimination between local and international students. Both are hard-working. The international students are vulnerable to exploitation e.g. some restaurants do not pay tips to international students, and so on. Locals are more aware to their rights. Some prejudiced and unethical employers do show biases and justify their such behaviour in hiring practices preferring one over other.

Canada has, for decades, been in the top 10 of least racist and safest countries on planet Earth. Plus prosperous. Now there is a new negative spin that most Canadians do NOT deserve to a high degree. People must look at both sides. Since 2020, international students have been flocking to a educational system that many Canadians now feel was used by many of them as a loophole-to-immigration. Students utilizing schooling as a back-door (not front-door) ticket to living in Canada. Swarming a 50+ year tradition/system that was not not NOT designed to be about EVERY international student INSISTING on receiving Permanent Residency. Plus it was not designed to be primarily about students demanding lengthy work permits (& spouse permits etc.). Canadians have clued in that Canada's post secondary education system has (in 5 years time) turned into what many are now jokingly calling EDUGRATION. An extreme not approved by everyday Canadians. What about Ghost Consulting that Canada told India to halt? Canadians want the $ greedy agents in other countries to stop marketing & lying to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … in places like Canada being relatively easy (to get). And for any people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're getting greedy too. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 20% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are health, trades, highly-needed-skills). What about all the YT videos that primarily Indian nationals have posted (for half a decade now including today) all advertising Canadian PR like they're selling a product? To say all the students or their consultants back home have not been at times 'gaming' Canada's education programs to gain western PR or $ is ridiculous. Students have contributed to Canada's housing CRISIS because 98% conspire-to-outstay a temporary permit. This didn't exist 5 years ago. What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies? Fraud? False asylum claims? What about Canadian food banks & other charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages? What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by/for internationals? Home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply". Indian nationals buying local businesses then putting Indians only in key positions (while also drastically changing work practices that include working more hours for less money). Plus BC & Ontario are outlawing the Caste System. Then throw in the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada. Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) … even though it all stems from their ancestral home. How can peace be found anywhere with this in play? Plus the Canadian government recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections, stemming from Asia continent. Canada also had to end flagpoling at the border because of international students. In recent years, Canadians everyday are having to worry about their automobile being stolen by auto theft rings. For just ONE small example of what Canadians see regarding this, research; "arrests in connection with $9.24M Toronto-area auto theft ring". Plus research; "Gold stolen in Canada's biggest ever heist ended up in India". Canadians are so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now worried and fearful. All are praying it doesn't turn into great anger. Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian Canadians MOST upset (by all of this). Canadians are aware that some great students are going through hell. And know Canada is partially to blame which is awful. But Canada decides what needs to be done in Canada. Do you see Canadians protesting in other countries (that is not their own) making demands for themselves? No. Do Canadians now see primarily Indians protesting in Canada making demands? Yes. Protesting because they don't have the credentials to stay in Canada. And because rules designed to protect CANADA are not meeting their desires/demands. And why isn't there large crowds of African or Caribbean or Filipino or Chinese or Mexican etc., students protesting & waving their flags? They're in Canada too. Canada didn't have numerous PRIVATE 'diploma mills' until 40% of international students were from India. Coincidence? Mills that Canada is shutting down. AND the bulk of them are near Brampton Ontario and Surrey B.C.. Coincidence? If 36,000,000 Canadians travelled to India, since 2020, with the goal of being able to stay there permanently, that would raise India's population by 2.65%. Recent asylum seekers crossing into Canada… and especially international students... have raised Canada's population higher than 2.65%. More needing healthcare too (affecting waiting times etc.). Did international students and their families pay into Canadian taxes ALL their lives like domestic students have (earning cheaper tuition fees)? No. Did Canada force internationals to move to Canada as a STUDENT? No. Did Canada promise/guarantee PR? Or a job? No & no. Yet do they blame Canada when they can't get PR??? Canadians are now wondering; "What caused all this drama around international students to happen?". And when pondering this question they're thinking about Canada … and ONE other country. WHY???🤔

One aspect that no one placed and I want to dictate as I am regularly experiencing it. I was migrated here as PR in Dec 2023 and in India I was an English Professor since last 12 years. Both the system and the employers are responsible for creating such situation. Let me discuss in detail, Applicants like me having well-qualified with PHD level degrees are not able to even join an elementary school the condition is to get Provincial Teaching Certificates. I want to ask the govt of canada when we have already completed our education from our native country and even verified by WES when applied for PR, why again to verify our documents and to study here to get teaching certificate. I have applied for this certificate, still no educational institute whether public or private is willing to give me the job. In non-teaching industry, everyone is asking for reference. How can one get a reference if no employer is giving him a chance to start life over here. Canadian system is totally ridiculous and forced the people to live from hard to mouth.

@@singhjk911 I think every country govt has such funda like not to let the well qualified to move ahead and to do something in their life. The Richer are going richer and poor are more poorer day by day. What can one do if no chances would be given to youth and those who have some fire inside to do something to make country and family proud. Even in India, having such experience and knowledge had no credit. After being frustrated from worst Indian system and corrupted world, we migrate to these countries in pursuit of better future. But all in vain it seems to be now. Franky speaking, at least in India, there was an opportunity to do job even though the salary package was not up to the mark or even person might start his personal business but here in these foreign countries, one is neither hired by the employers nor the govt allow to start his business. Fuck of this so called polished culture. Feeling like a “Trishanku” lingering in a void between two stools. Not even the labour jobs are available.

@meensukhwant5294 it's a know fact. There have been thousands movies songs about this situation. Our well qualified people have been driving taxis and trucks because you need to re qualify again as per their standards of education. You need to understand this and go back to university here. There is no age limit to study in these countries.
