ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਇੱਕੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਨਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ । ਚੰਗੇ ਮਾੜੇ -ਲੋਕ ਹਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਨੇ । ਕਈ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਅੜਬ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀ ਪੀੜੀ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ।

ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਾ ਬਾਪ ਇੱਥੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਤਹਿਤ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਆ ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਭੋਲੇ ਪੰਛੀ ਆ । ਇੱਥੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਤਾਂ ਡਾਲਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ ਤੇ ਜਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆ ਤੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਬੁੱਢੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾੜੇ ਹਨ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਜਰ ਆਉਣ ਜਾ ਨਾ ਆਉਣ ਪਰ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਮਾੜੇ ਹਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਕਲਚਰ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਗਲਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਮੋਸ਼ੀ ਮਾਰਦੀ ਆ ਸਮਾਜ ਕੀ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਪਾਸ ਤਾਂ ਰਹੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਖੜਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਾ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਉੱਥੇ ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਉਹਨਾ ਵੱਲ ਉਹਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਖੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਆ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਉਹਨਾ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਉਹਨਾ ਦਾ ਕਲਚਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹਨਾ ਲਈ ਢਾਲ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਤਾਂ privacy ਵਾਲਾ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਾ ਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਬਜੁਰਗ ਭੇਡ ਚਾਲ ਰਾਹੀ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਸਭ ਗੂਆ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਨਰਕ ਕੱਟਦੇ ਆ ਜੋ ਤਾਂ ਸਮੇ ਦੀ ਨਬਜ ਸਮਝ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਉਡਾਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨਹੀ ਤਾਂ ਬਾਕੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਕੰਮ ਵੀ ਲੋਕ ਗੋਫੰਡ ਰਾਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਆ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਨਹੀ

Not everyone is like that, my mother in law treated me so badly after my marriage but when she got handicapped i did lot of sewa for her, her own daughters would never help, but even till date she never praises me or say anything good about me, but sabar rakhya waheguruji will make her realise! Older people should live close but separate so love is always there bcoz lot of in laws especially mother in m laws gaslight their son against the wife

Waheguru guru ji, I have a question, when they have a choice, many parents, especially mothers in Indian families choose to live with there child/children, is it because of values and beliefs instilled or is it the fear of living alone? I have seen so many elderly being emotionally and financially abused but they still will not complain because of Izzat issues. What a sad situation for those who deserve so much for having got through so many trials and challenges their whole lives and the end isn’t a good journey for either😢😔😠

ਗੋਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਬੱਚਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ । ਬੱਚੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਾਪਿਆ ਨਾਲੋ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮਾਪੇ ਘਪ ਵੇਚ ਕੇ Assistant living home ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਥੋਤੇ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਸਫਾਈ ਕਰੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋ ਹੋਰ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ long term home ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਗੋਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਰੌਲਾ ਘੱਟ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
