It took being the victim of a vicious toxic work environment for me to realize how destructive gossip is. I work hard every day now to watch my words. I try to ask myself these questions and only speak on it if 2/3 are true... 1.) is it true? 2.) is it helpful? 3.) Am I speaking about it to someone who can help the situation?

Gossip has been a big part of my life for a long time and I am not proud of it. I apologize to everyone that I have hurt because of my gossiping and other means.

Gossip has really hurt me. being gossiped about by relatives who can't take accountability/ownership for their violent vindictive manipulative Narcissistic actions, gossiped by step daughter and her mother's family to the point where my own children's safety was compromised by the lies and insinuating stories. I don't like taking my child to school because of gossip. I don't like living in the town I live because of gossip. Sad and mad.

Gossip is a vicious sin. You lose good deeds on judgment day because of it. It's so terrible because it's so quick. Happens in two seconds

You can redirect by speaking the good things about someone but it will be better to either remind them that gossip is bad and sinful and change the subject or to leave

When people start RUMORS about YOU!! JUST Because someone SAID or ACCUSED YOU of something you didn't do RUMORS Take OVER!!! RUINS YOUR LIFE!! If you have a free mind, then other people’s opinions need not touch or influence you. Free your own mind instead of trying to Censor free speech. I do not enjoy gossip but it is a human right to speak and think. I am not the higher power to censor them. This a religiously influenced perspective. I don’t like people who talk bad enough others but I love them enough to respect their freedom of speech. If I am of a weak mind, then of course i will be Influenced by them. So again it goes back to my responsibility to think for myself but I will not censor other people. If they want to talk negatively, it’s not my business. I also have a right to my own opinion. This is what a free country is all about. Bible as always is so stifling and radical. But as long as there are no legal statues to censor thought or speech, carry on.

That is very true. God deserves all the credit And I too am dealing with this very thing at work. My coworkers are evil. They spread and listen to gossip and talk about others in a negative way. So I by the grace of God doing my best to change that
