Rediscovering India in the Times of Manipulation of History | The AIDEM | P Sainath | Indian History

Renowned writer and journalist P Sainath presents an extensive narration of Indian history and underscores the importance of remembering a country’s past truthfully and drawing the correct lessons from such remembrance. He points out that rampant and aggressive attempts are on from the Narendra Modi regime to erase heroic chapters from India’s freedom struggle in order to manipulate the narratives of the present. “A country that does not know its past does not know where it is going too”. He points out in this inaugural speech made at the Panchajanyam Film Festival at Chittoor, Palakkad on 4 February 2024.

I was born in 1947 and I grew with the nation.in our drawing room we had the photographs of Gandhi,Nehru,Sardar Pateland Subash Chandrabose.that means people all over India respected these figures.even I used listen to the political discussions taking place over the dining table .everyone of these personalities were equally respected.after BJP came to power,there is an orchestrated effort S by the godimeddia,the cyber bullies and WhatsApp warriors and the different Senas to erase the previous leaders and the contribution of their governments.they are trying to project one person as the Lord of this country and this country was born in 2014. the public knows everything and they respect the genuine leaders.we also understand the effort to bring back Hindutwa and to divide this country again.
