It took me a moment to realize the white haired henchman who ends up being set on fire in Cyclone was the legendary stuntman (and sometimes actor) Dar Robinson, who was known for performing amazing feats, breaking records and setting others. Sadly, along with "Million Dollar Mystery" and "Lethal Weapon", Cyclone was one of the last films he made before a motorcycle accident claimed him. But he pulled off some spectacular stunts back in the day, like free-falling off the CN tower in Toronto, and driving a car off the edge of the Grand Canyon before parachuting to safety, and skydiving from one prop plane then landing on another while it was in flight.

Going to Pocket Ninjas' Wiki page, you get some good facts. It was intended to be a child's version of "The Roller Blade Seven" and was originally to be titled "Skate Dragons." The movie had three directors. The first director, Donald G. Jackson, directed "The Roller Blade Seven" and was to use the same "roller cam" technique and "Zen filmmaking." Zen filmmaking apparently uses no scripts and favors "shooting whatever you feel like." The other directors were the producer, David Huey, who fired Jackson after he didn't like the zen style of filming, and the third director was brought in to make a film around what was already shot. Pretty much explains it and Rich was fairly close in his assessment of how the film was made.

I think this is more likely. If they had a Gameboy, they probably had a game, they just weren’t paying attention.
@Lowlightt3 жыл бұрын
Copywrite reasons actually. Based on the scene the gameboy's back would be shown, and what ever game they used would need to be licensed for the movie. They cant just stick a game in there and show it. So they went with the much cheaper "empty gameboy" approach. They could have ripped off the cover of a game, or placed a new cover on the game instead, but they didn't because it was a cheap movie with low budget.

But seriously there's a lot of thought put into these. For instance, they often have pictures of Reagan subtly in the background. There's a lot of callback jokes like that.

I'd hate to have to edit these episodes. You've got to watch the three movies once, which is bad enough, then you have to watch everybody WATCHING the three movies, then you have to sift through hours of discussion footage for each movie and somehow trim it down to an entertaining 45 mins or so. I'd go nuts.

I thought the intro was great, Josh corralling drunkards is something I can relate to, so it was a amusing callback. The part I like the most is when he threw Blue Steel of the cliff. The music stops, Josh stops, he stares over the ledge for a moment, then he throws it, watches it, the music starts up again then he turns and plods off. Job done. A well executed bit.

LMAO this music was NOT written by the director! He stole obscure MIDI music from 90s pc games and just pitched them down. For example, the music at the scene at 58:18 is a song from a game called "Demonstar", specifically the Level 3 outer space music, as composed by Bobby Prince, the guy who composed the soundtracks for the first 2 Doom games!
@Vaporvice843 жыл бұрын
So what you're saying is, the theme song may actually be from "Toejam and Earl" like they were joking?
