Even as a guy who's not black or American I can feel the genuine struggle Rudy went through to achieve his dreams, and his love and passion for his art and his friends. Even though it's about creating something full of sex and violence, it's amazingly wholesome.

I've felt for years now that radio stations do this with music too. When you know a song really well, and then you hear it on the radio, often the tempo is just ever so slightly too high. Have any of you noticed this too?

@11111110 5 жыл бұрын
They often speed up reruns of Seinfeld and Law & Order, so they can fit in one or two extra commercials. Most people don't notice. I noticed and I felt like I was going bonkers, no one would believe me that there was a TV network conspiracy!
@cosmicrdt
@cosmicrdt 5 жыл бұрын
In the days before digital it was quite common for radio songs to play at different speeds than at home. It depended on the speed of the motor in the player. These days they have ways of speeding up the playback without any impact on the pitch. The only way you can notice is by having a keen ear/eye.

What bothered me most about 'Yesterday' was that it's established the love interest was fascinated with the Protagonist since she was backstage and listening to him perform a cover of Wonderwall when they were kids and since then she's pushed him towards his music career even when it hasn't gone well. After ending up in the world where the Beatles, Coke, Harry Potter, and Cigarettes don't exist, the Protagonist also discovers Oasis doesn't exist. Then there's NEVER a scene where he asks the love interest to recall what song he covered back at the genesis of their relationship. It was such a set up for him to PROVE that there had been this change in history but it never comes up in the film. It also bothered me that the love interest never made a pass at the Protag during those ten years but blamed him for never going after her, but, ayy, that's how it is.

Alien shares some qualities with slasher films; a singular relentless antagonist, unable to really escape, a false escape, jump scares in cramped spaces. So we can also, by extension, call most slasher films Escape Room movies.

@ Well, it comes from an older history. Boomers were originally those born during "the baby boom" after World War 2. It has always been a common term. Far less common these days is any mention of "generation X" or "generation y" which came somewhere between boomers and the yet-to-exist millenials. Ultimately, it was some of the boomers' very vocal disdain for millenials (with millenial becoming an insult) that started the Boomer meme as we know it today. They are no longer the actual baby boomers, but now the tail-end of gen X/Y that are those Monster drinking, lawn mowing characters.
