In the days before digital it was quite common for radio songs to play at different speeds than at home. It depended on the speed of the motor in the player. What bothered me most about 'Yesterday' was that it's established the love interest was fascinated with the Protagonist since she was backstage and listening to him perform a cover of Wonderwall when they were kids and since then she's pushed him towards his music career even when it hasn't gone well. After ending up in the world where the Beatles, Coke, Harry Potter, and Cigarettes don't exist, the Protagonist also discovers Oasis doesn't exist. Then there's NEVER a scene where he asks the love interest to recall what song he covered back at the genesis of their relationship. It was such a set up for him to PROVE that there had been this change in history but it never comes up in the film. It also bothered me that the love interest never made a pass at the Protag during those ten years but blamed him for never going after her, but, ayy, that's how it is.

@ Well, it comes from an older history. Boomers were originally those born during "the baby boom" after World War 2. It has always been a common term. Far less common these days is any mention of "generation X" or "generation y" which came somewhere between boomers and the yet-to-exist millenials. Ultimately, it was some of the boomers' very vocal disdain for millenials (with millenial becoming an insult) that started the Boomer meme as we know it today. They are no longer the actual baby boomers, but now the tail-end of gen X/Y that are those Monster drinking, lawn mowing characters.
