As an instructor (from Shaolin Kempo) I highly recommend this teacher and technique. Not every instructor can explain as well as he does. I might also advise to ensure that your right arm is out of the line of fire as you grab the gun arm (but that should be obvious). Great!

Good-looking video; sound, image. Thanks for the effort. Very well explained. Succinct.

Best defense against a gun is to do what the guy with the gun says. Please do not gamble with your life people.

I dont know. Im not in any city where there is a lot of crime. I've never seen a gun in my life other than on the hip of our police officers here in the Netherlands. The only crimes ive witnessed were traffic crimes like running red lights and such. So my standpoint is obvioualy very different from yours. It was only my personal point of view

Does it say anything about a white belt that can submit a purple belt on a regular basis? keep in mind the white belt is also much smaller

Truth is, gun hold ups are ending in homicide these days so if you get a chance, take it. Don't reach for it, just stay armed and train to shoot and kill in close quarters. Krav disarms are simple. I'm about to start studying Japanese Jujitsu (Kobukai).

The standing armlock variation put together for this seems fine but since your are trying to represent Helios jiujitsu why not teach his simple pivot and strip technique that's in the Gracie bible already?

NewMexico Jiujitsu agreed. Great arm bar technique but not so great disarming. Unfortunately you will be shot doing this technique.

Helio, Rener and Ryron teach waki gatame for gun defense where the shooter's arm is fully extended, as in this scenario. The pivot and strip technique is for opponents who are keeping their gun close to them.

Its a fact that you never have been attacked by a man with a gun. Guns are weapons of distance... If you have a gun you don´t need be close to the victim, you dont need put the gune in his chest. Good technique but you need more reality and less movies.
@badatt1tude984

Sergio Kake criminals have to get close to acquire your stuff, and they've got one hand on the gun, so it is just asking to be taken, do some research and look at all robberies, it's always at close range, you need to do some realistic research as well, and not base your claims off of theory.

Sergio Kake this technique is not the best but I respect the jiu Jitsu.....however, most untrained gunman get close as to use it as a tool of intimidation. Look at armed robbery CCTV here on KZbin

Guns are weapons of distance, yes. People however, are stupid, and get close to their victims. We are always taught to comply and give the attacker what they want; fighting against a gun is always a last resort.
