Nice videos - waiting on the next two parts. One tip for your soldering: you will get better joints if you heat the parts (wires in this case) rather than the solder itself. When the parts are at temp, touching the solder to them will cause it to flow nicely in and around, creating a strong bond and avoiding a cold solder joint. It might never be a problem, but it will make your projects come out that much better.

Yeah thanks - doubt it will be a problem - hopefully LOL

Hey Dave, do you have the part number for the transit screen. Wanting to make sure I’m looking at the right one before I buy it

Does using the 12 inch screen get rid of having the air conditioning touch controls you showed to be on the 13.2 inch screen?

Great video, I'm having issues with getting some items working but I think it's the junk passthrough connector that Fordsync4 sent. Since I have my own that I modified, I'm going to try that to see if it resolves my issues with the camera, SiriusXM, and microphone
@RedneckGarageАй бұрын
ugggg sorry.
@Fitzgerald52Ай бұрын
thanks, swapped the pass through but still having issues but different ones. So annoying, and not sure how to proceed. I love the larger screen but want everything fully functional.

Everything is working now except Ford Pass. I ended up buying a different APIM from a 2023 Escape. Everything is working now but need to tweak some things like removing the onscreen HVAC controls

What apim would I use for a 2020 Explorer a 2025 Explorer?
@XpolrerST18 күн бұрын
This is what I'm trying to figure out. I used a edge sync 4 apim but had no power when everything was connected so I'm about to make a test bench and start testing

Good to see you back again Dave. Any interest in an 89 YJ? I've got for sale and would be a good project for you. Solid frame and body with a reman Jasper engine < 2k on engine. Jeep is all original. Was my Girlfriend's Jeep. I am faced with life circumstances which require selling it. Comes with full and half doors with both a hard top and soft top. Needs cosmetic work, but everything else is fine. I'd like it to go to a good home and thought to reach out to you as I know it would be in a good place.

Thanks Rick - I appreciate the offer - sadly I dont have any extra time right now for a Jeep project - hope you sell it no problem !!

I didn't hear you say it (not sure you did), but how much did everything cost? The screen, APMI, and a couple of cables should have only been a few hundred. Is that right? Thanks.

I haven't watched the whole video but this is only for the lariat? This method will not work on the xlt ot xl?

You will have to upgrade your system to sync 4. There is a tutorial you can look up.

So can you use a 12in F150 basic screen off Amazon? Or do you need the different black backing from the transit to help fit correctly?
@RedneckGarageАй бұрын
Yes you need the back cover that's on the transit

Hi Dave!! I have everything to do it with my 2019 Ford F-350, do you know if it will take the same wire modification to make it work ?
@Fitzgerald52Ай бұрын
If you're going from sync3 then it should be.
@RedneckGarageАй бұрын
Yup should be the same as Fitz said 😁

Yes from sync3. Thank you!

Not much really going on there - take two wires that were removed and replace the RCA camera wires.
@RedneckGarageАй бұрын
You just take 2 extra wites and put them in where the RCA cable was
@XpolrerST8 күн бұрын
So just use the existing rca wires that were for the camera???
