I agree appearance imo is a facade MOST people put on but it's also the FURTHEST away from who they really are. Hidden secret lie beneath.
@ckm-mkc5 жыл бұрын
Appearance doesn't mean anything. In my industry people who's net worth is measured in 8 figures wear t-shirts & jeans. They have worked 15 hour days, 7 days a week for years trying to make things happen, that is who they are. IMHO people who spend lots of money on their appearance are precisely the people you should not trust.

You are so right - perseverance is the key. My father had very much the same philosophy as you. He was a mechanic with the heart of an engineer - never had the opportunity to further his education. But his life, his ethics, his PERSEVERANCE, was passed on to his children. It's so gratifying to see the way you are trying to be a good husband and father. Men like you are rare anymore. Don't be discouraged - at least, don't let it get to you on those days when all your plans seem thwarted. You DO see the bigger picture - the further goal. You WILL persevere and your family will be all the better for it. Rooting for you, and remembering my father as I watch your videos.

I am a lot older than you and I have experienced many different hardships in my life. I feel like you being yourself is better than someone who thinks they know everything and dresses up to help hide their insecurities, don’t you think? I had to work with many people who had way more education than I did but I always prayed for wisdom which helped me keep my mouth shut which kept me from making a fool of myself:) Persistence is keyword to try our best. I appreciate you taking the time to speak up even when things aren’t going as you planned. God will bless you with all you gotta do as you have proven by sticking with the work at hand. I love the last line you spoke, and its so true and so simple to follow! All that snow up there caused a lot of flooding here in Arkansas. Being on top of a small mt means water drains well but my driveways were sheets of water. I rented a mower yesterday, because mine is broke down, and had to learn to drive a zero turn mower--very interesting and nerve racking. After mowing for awhile, I shut it off and then it wouldnt start, had to call the rental co. and the repairman got it started with a bypass thing. I was so relieved I didnt break it!!!!! This morning it wont start, so it will take some doing to get it loaded on a tilt bed and haul it to town. Annoying but the yard is cleaned up, many piles of leaves are mulched and I feel better!!!! You will get your problems worked out too, just hang in there!!!!

I know the feeling of frustration when the best laid plans go out of the window, just got to hunker down and ride it out. Time for my favourite Churchill quote “Never give in, never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.” Take it easy and good luck following the "Hard reset"

Brother, I try to live similarly in not having big payments with cars and my home. That being said, I, like you, fix most of my own things and at times, everything breaks at once (or at least it seems that way). I drive older vehicles and my kitchen looks like it popped out of a 1950's TV show. But everything works and that is fine by me. My Grandmother would say, if it can't cry for you than its not worth getting down over. You have your health, family and warmth...the breakdowns are expected. Keep your head up, keep moving forward and it will be worth it when you have your stuff tweaked just right.

You are completely nuts. You know that, of course, and I love ya for it. Every person who ever stepped off the main trail and dared to take a different path was deemed crazy by those with no courage and even less imagination. Theodore Roosevelt was spot on when he said, "Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take the ranks of those poor, miserable spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." Been there, have been left broken on the ground..literally when a woman slid off a road and slammed me walking along it one snowy/icy day. The marketing people who sell high-end clothing would like us to believe what that man said about clothing making a man. It's total nonsense and it didn't help me in the days when I worked in an industry that required a decent suit shirt and tie. Sadly, the boss at that time that I had was really big on fine clothing from Brooks Brothers. It was all nonsense because I was the same person in the T-shirt and blue jeans as I was in a $500 suit! THANK you, Sir, for your service to me & the USA. I was born 1932, my folks came to this country in 1929 from Scotland, We worked hard as a family & never asked for anything unlike some of the people today. My 2 brothers joined the navy & 1 became a Mi. State Trooper, my twin became a teacher. Many hands make light work. I miss my Mother & Father every day. Again Edwin THANK YOU

Your persistence has paid off 10x, of what others have only dreamed of accomplishing. Perception only exists in the eyes of others, and will never change who YOU ARE! Because of who you are you can walk down the street amoungst all, holding your head high with pride....of your family and your accomplishments.
