I thought Steer smart's 1.5 ton drag-link and tie-rod were overkill, lol. Nope you were like HA, I want the 2.5 ton ones. lmao. Those little ones clearly look up to there dad. Must be doing something right. Looks amazing. Did notice at 10:18 that the drag-link does lightly impact your frame coming down on the right. Still amazing.

You eliminated a steering stabilizer? I have been chasing death wobble and can't seem to cure it. Thus building my front end out. Did/does it actually make frame contact? What Spring are you running (teraflex right?)
@RedRockCrawlers
@RedRockCrawlers 4 жыл бұрын
yes I took the stabilizer off. If your geometry is correct you shouldn't need a stabilizer. Usually the wobble comes from loose or worn out joints, Your track bar is the usual suspect, check all those link up front, they don't have to move very much to give you death wobble. I have a Rock Krawler 3.5" lift.
@TheMuddman74
@TheMuddman74 4 жыл бұрын
Some of this info is good some of it is bad. What they mean by steering geometry is specifically that your steering linkage and track bar need to be at the same angle or with a couple degrees. The mention of bushings being worn out causing death wobble is backwards. Death wobble will cause those bushings to wear but the worn bushings dont cause it. What the worn bushings cause is the track bar/steering bar to shift one way or the other at low speeds/parking lots and as you go into a turn it can shift towards the outside. But 100% promise you if you match the angles of the steering linkage and track bar you will not have death wobble. I'm happy to go more in depth if you need more specifics or you are also welcome to find me on Instagram with my current build @ xjstormtrooper and message me there. I'm always happy to help other Jeepers as I was once a noob and others helped me. I will always reciprocate. Cheers friends

I need to start a death wobble fixing business because 9 out of 10 "professional" shops still dont understand steering physics and geometry. On my first jeep I went to 5 different offroad shops that install and align lifted vehicles, none figured it out. Found a regular old mom&pops tire shop run by old fellers (I mean 70 year old dudes chock full of knowledge) they explained it instantly and clearly and were 110% correct. I can prove that it's not your bushings because I currently have a track bar that the mounting bracket is wallered out and it shifts several inches back and forth, makes clunks and shifts around at low speeds but my geometry is correct and I can easily do 110mph on the freeway smooth as butter and I'm 6"+ with 33x12.50s. Can prove.
