What I want to know is that there is a pigeon race in my country. They will be trained to dive directly overhead or what we call 90 degrees Above head, at very high speed. In fact, it is not uncommon for pigeons to fall to their death before they have time to reduce their speed. try to look for Indonesian racing pigeons.

The Gentoo Penguin is the fastest swimmer at 22 mph. Apparently their porpoise jumps out of water are even faster. Meanwhile owls cannot fly very well in the rain.

According to scientists humans could run up to 40 mph if they really pushed themselves to their limits. I assume these estimates are for elite sprinters and not marathon runners so your average normal Joe couldn't do it only the kinds like Usain Bolt. Of course I believe height does play a role on how fast we humans can run so that might involve some good genetics too.

I have Guinea fowl at home and I was wondering why it wasn't compared to the chickens when they appeared running and were already moving into the flying birds. Makes sense. They're not as genetically different from their wild cousins as most other domestic poultry, so they haven't had their ancestral evasive abilities bred out of them. Plus, the wild ones preferentially feed on insects stirred up by the passage of animal herds, so not being quick on their feet among the big grazers was a good way to get stepped on.
