thats a band that is so on point with how they figure out how to get right to your gut (soul)...and it starts with Charlie Wilson's voice...which is one of the most recognizable and influential singing voices in popular music. These guys are legends. And as far as Im concerned, they deserve an induction into the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame. RIP, Ronnie Wilson and Robert Wilson. The Gap Band tales up a LOT of space on the soundtrack of my life. I hear "Outstanding", and Im thinking of block parties in my hood, back in the day....and family picnics...and going to the roller skating rink on Friday nights...Mom playing their music around the house on Saturdays, while Im hurrying up doing my chores, so I can get out of the house...and playing their music in my first car in the parking lot at high school, after school let out. Thats what they mean to me. God bless these guys...legends.
