Uncle Charlie is 68 and _will_ sing anyone under the table right now. And he looks the same. Gap Band, EWF, Zapp, Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang, Isley Brothers, Cameo, Commodores, War, just to name a few are my go to for some _real_ music. My 24 year old self knows some great music from the icons and legends. 👊👊👊👊👊👊👊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

thats a band that is so on point with how they figure out how to get right to your gut (soul)...and it starts with Charlie Wilson's voice...which is one of the most recognizable and influential singing voices in popular music. These guys are legends. And as far as Im concerned, they deserve an induction into the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame. RIP, Ronnie Wilson and Robert Wilson. The Gap Band tales up a LOT of space on the soundtrack of my life. I hear "Outstanding", and Im thinking of block parties in my hood, back in the day....and family picnics...and going to the roller skating rink on Friday nights...Mom playing their music around the house on Saturdays, while Im hurrying up doing my chores, so I can get out of the house...and playing their music in my first car in the parking lot at high school, after school let out. Thats what they mean to me. God bless these guys...legends.

Robert was a monster! A Fender Precision bass was his weapon of choice. I liked that he used his main red one for the majority of the show but when they played "Yearnin'", he came back with a natural one detuned to low"B", while being all over the stage and not missing a beat. Them P-basses had some growl in them! RIP Robert.......

* Gap Band consisted of the brothers, so when you see the album cover, it's just them three. It's like hiring a "temp" worker to get that "Gap" sound. * EWF also has 3 Brothers (Maurice, Verdine, Fred), but they also have Philip Bailey, Al McKay, Johnny Graham, Larry Dunn and that horn section. You'll see them all on the album and see those same people live on stage.

Whoaa had I known that show was in Savannah I would have made that one JUST for SLAVE one of my favorite funk bands. I live in the back yard of Augusta Ga and saw the Gap Band open for the barking BAR-KAYS at the Augusta Ga Civic Center. I have relatives who live in Savannah and would have been easy for me to have made that one. SLAVE is one funk bands that was never was in my area BUT I have the cd's and listen to them on the regular..Oct 2021

@@REDD_BLITZ I wish I did. I didn't go to many concerts when I was young. My mother and took me to that one because I had just graduated High School. I did see O'Brian and The Dazz Band in 83 and 84 at Six Flags Magic Mountain. They used to have live bands back then

@@leetate1963 Woooow!!! I heard about the Dazz Band. Them guys would throw down. As for O' Bryan, he was that dude back in the day. Very underrated too. My favs by him is of course, "Love Lite," "Soft Touch," "For Real," and "Lady, I Love You."

@@REDD_BLITZ Thanks for correcting the spelling of his name, I thought it might be wrong...lol Yeah, I remember both performances clearly I was 20 and 21 then. O'Bryan in 83 I remember preforming shirtless on stage, just killing it. He got busy using drum sticks on his drummers drum rims as if he were playing timbales, while standing in front of the drum set. In 84 the Dazz band was incredible. The standout musician I remember the most was the drummer doing amazing solos.... Great times
