Frankie Beverly (born Howard Beverly, December 6, 1946 - September 10, 2024) was an American singer, songwriter, and producer, known primarily for his recordings with the soul and funk band Maze.[1] Beverly formed Maze, originally called Raw Soul, in his hometown of Philadelphia in 1970. After a relocation to San Francisco and an introduction to Marvin Gaye, Maze went on to release nine Gold albums and create a large and devoted following. Beverly is the band's writer, producer and lead singer. He is known for his distinctive smooth baritone voice and charismatic stage presence.

This is why we got to get back to the blueprint! Here in my state, they are slowly taking music from academia. I play clarinet, write, and know my way around a kitchen - courtesy of band, creative writing, and homemaking and my Grandfather (my mom passed during childbirth). My son plays violin and guitar. We are losing all of our GREATS, and we need the upcoming stars and legends- in- the- making to come forward and stick to the way WE DO IT.... stop conforming to the ways of the industry and bring back the good stuff! Had the privilege to meet Frankie and the band in the UK early 80s . My friend was a sound engineer for 2 nights at Hammersmith and I went. I was in the lighting box for both concerts. And the after party. On the second night I got free tickets from the band for my family. My dad loved it. One of the best nights of my life. Thanks Frankie RIP . ❤ got the Kodak photo to this day. Memories. 🙏

I was taken to see Maze as a young kid in the early 80s. Had no clue who they were but loved them ever since. This song is a particular anthem at black UK parties, everyone singing at the top of their lungs. Great memories. RIP Frankie Beverly.

I remember not wanting to go to a Frankie Beverly and Maze show because I would joking say they have not had a hit song since 1979! LOL. In the early 1990's a friend gave me a free ticket to go see Maze at the Robin Hood DELL in PHILLY.. Ever since that night, I was obsessed with seeing a Live Maze Show in a least 25 different places.
