I have a theory about gendery.. I'm waiting to see if the final books confirm it. In the books it says that cercie had a child with Robert that died a few weeks after being born. It also says that when cercie first came to kings landing after marrying Robert, her and Jamie played a game where he she would go to an inn and she would show up pretending to be a serving wench.. then they would sneak off... my theory is that cercies 1st baby with Robert was born with black hair. She instantly knew that it wasn't jaimies.. she also knew that the blonde serving girl Robert was cheating with just had a baby.. so she had someone switch the babies and kill the serving wench. Told Robert that their baby died in the crib.. and all the master black Smith knew was that a blonde serving girl had brought him a baby right before she died.. a bastard of the king. But that serving girl was actually cercie. People had seen her in wench clothing while meeting with Jamie. Cercie might hate the fact she had Robert's child.. but she would never harm her own baby. That means that GENDRY is actually the son of cercie and Robert.. and is absolutely the rightful heir to the throne.

36:38 Um, NO! Sansa was beaten and had her body violated. Arya was beaten also, but not for someone's sadistic pleasure! She was made blind as a punishment and learned how to fight physically and even when she was a prisoner at Harrenhal, she was Tywin's cup bearer and was treated well. The Hound and the Brotherhood both treated her well. Sansa was a prisoner everywhere between Winterfell and went through all that trauma and came out stronger mentally.

I still blame the writing for why ppl hate on Sansa in the later seasons. They try and make her seem like shes strong & smart, but they keep being way too vague about her reasons and motivations. We never got a proper explanation as to why she hid the knights of the vale from Jon.. and the ultimate reason is probably just that they wanted to give Sansa her moment and they didn't think about it deeper than that. And then in this season, most of the Sansa/Arya fighting seems forced so that the twist in the finale is more shocking. They are just trying to trick the audiences into actually believing they might kill each other so that its more shocking when the entire situation gets turned around. So none of the scenes feel like they are properly developing characters.....Everything is designed for cheap and easy twists that require little critical thinking from the writers.

About the worst illogical script writing moment: Jamie and Bronn swim up with armor on, and make it ashore somehow avoiding capture by the victorious army rounding up prisoners. The least they could’ve done to make this a bit believable is shed their armor in the water, if they’re supposed to have swum to the other side - but even the swimming would be seen. Plot armor.

I think the problem with some of the episodes from this season is it feels like they squeezed 3 episodes worth of events into each episode. Its like time is suddenly running at 3x speed.

The reason the last three or four seasons of Game of Thrones feels rushed is because they were. Game of Thrones was made too early to be ready to follow George R. R. Martin's vision perfectly. That's why they had to improvise or they would have had to wait for several years more before they'd finished the show. Honestly, the things they did with the show towards the end, would probably have been worth waiting for a few more years. But George R. R. Martin is a sloow, sloow writer. He is very old and treats every day like he's in his 20's or 30's. He doesn't reflect on the fact that he could die of old age before his last two novels are done, and he hasn't even begun writing on his final novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire chronology, A Dream of Spring, because he has yet to finish The Winds of Winter. But, his slow writing would not have been such a problem if the people behind the show had decided to do it later. But I guess if they had, someone else would have bought the rights for a Game of Thrones show, and that would have meant they wouldn't get the chance to make the show that most of us love and it might not have been AS good. Some of the things they did with the show does not make sense, like the way they treated the Golden Company(what was even the point of including them in the show? They appeared, we didn't see them in action and right when they were about to do something, they were killed off just like that, running, not doing anything), so some things were painfully obvious that they rushed the show more and more so that they could be done with the show. Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow, even said in an interview what he thought of the finale, and the last season as a whole - ''Disappointing''. There is a right way of writing an adaptation of a novel series, and there is a wrong way. It used to be correct because they followed the novels initially, up to around season 4 I believe. Then they had caught up with all the novels and there was no more material to draw a script from, so they had to come up with their own version. Yes, George R. R. Martin did say how it would end, and the way we see it happen in the final season is pretty much how it all ends, supposedly, but the WAY all of that culminates probably happens in a cooler and more rewarding way than we got to see in the show. I imagine that in the books, the Golden Company will actually get to fight and do their thing that they are renowned for. There is a reason they get paid so much and are saught after for their legendary status. They are elite sellswords and are really good professional soldiers. Sure, they don't fight dragons on the regular, but the enemies they do fight they fare well against and usually defeat. And, unlike in the show, they have those war elephants they are famous for(aren't those mentioned in the show?), which were excluded from the show to save cost, but to the detriment of the show. There are so many things that went wrong with Game of Thrones, but, it's in the past. This is what we got and we can only move on with our lives and live with the fact that Game of Thrones did not end the way we wanted it to. I hate how they made Daenerys prove that the Targaryen name is cursed and that a Targaryen cannot be trusted, JUST because of ONE person who got killed, and Daenerys was willing to give up all her goodness for her loss, and become the tyrant that Targaryens came to be known for(even though some Targaryen rulers were indeed benevolent and good people). Why did they have to go down that route? Daenerys was supposed to be the bringer of light and good. I semi-quote Obi-wan Kenobi from Star Wars Part 3, Revenge of the Sith: ''You were the chosen one Danny! You were supposed to bring balance, justice and prosperity to Westeros, not bring it into darkness!'' She even admitted towards the end that only her rule was the right one, that no matter what anyone says, what she says is just regardless of her actions. That is not how I wanted Daenerys to turn out. They developed her character wrong. They turned her into an arbitrary tyrant, practically close to Maegor Targaryen the Cruel. Jon saw what she had become, what she had chosen to be prepared to be(a tyrant), and so he saw no other way than to kill her off right then and there, ending the Targaryen dynasty forever. I certainly hope that is not George R. R. Martin's vision for Daenerys because that ending sucks. It is a bad ending and it is not what Danny should turn out to be, and Jon Snow should not be sent back to the Wall. All he went through, and he gets sent back to the Wall. And Bran constantly saying he didn't want the Iron Throne, because he had no interest in ruling, then all of a sudden he says randomly ''Why do you think I am here?'' implying he means to rule. NOO! You don't say for so many episodes that you have no intention of ruling ever only to then casually say ''I wanted to rule all along!''. That's an obvious last minute script change to make Bran fulfill some purpose they couldn't think of anymore, so they just went with it and wrote in that he was in fact heading to King's Landing in order to rule. Now, Bran WOULD be a just king, being impartial, fair and just like Jaeherys Targaryen(probably the best Targaryen ruler ever, and likely Westeros' best ruler ever as well), but it's so inconsisent with previous episodes that it doesn't make any sense that he suddenly wanted to become the new ruler of Westeros. The only good ending was Arya going off on an adventure.

Westeros is huge. Like North America huge. Dragon Stone would be Puerto Rico and the Wall is in halfway from the bottom of Canada to the North Pole. This show wants you to believe a bird flew from Canada to Puerto Rico and then Dany rode a dragon all the way back up in a few hours. In the old days when there were dragons, the flight from Dragonstone to the Wall took them two days and they had to stop overnight somewhere.

@@Cool_beansmh I disagree. Yes, many of their dragons died in war. However, there were Targaryans on both sides of that war... both of whom lost dragons. And, as has been stated in the show and the books, the Targaryans who survived kept their dragons in captivity... which eventually led to their powerlessness and extinction. After the death of the dragons, the Targs lost the one thing that made them conquerors in the first place. And we see that same thing with Dany... without her dragons, she's just another woman in a world of extreme patriarchy, and she probably would have been dead already.

For those that complain about this series going downhill from here, I agree but in the show's defense, even GRRM doesn't know how to end it. Bad GoT is still better than most of the crap on TV, so I think the biggest problem was the audience expectations and need for a happy ending. By the fifth book, you start to see GRRM's writer's block kicking in with the plotlines sprawling out in somewhat odd directions. At least he wrote Fire and Blood in the meantime, I enjoyed the book and TV series so far.

Daenerys coming in over Jons head like a fucking Valkyrie to napalm a bunch of ice zombies; Tormund fighting side by side with Jorah and The Hound…goosebumps every time.

Way to go Randall Tarly! He fought against Robert' for the Targs, then bent the knee, acts haughty about honor when he threatened his own son with death to join the Nights Watch (but tries to throw shade at Lannisters for poisoning and stabbing at weddings), betrayed the Tyrells even though the Lannisters blew up their Warden's whole family. Won't bend the knee to another Targ now because Cersei was born in Westeros (so was Dany), then allows his son to die with him which now leaves his wife and daughter with no one. Shame, sounds like a rich layered character...

One bit of advice, watch Season 8 episode 3 with the lights off. It is a dark episode and much easier to watch in an unlit room. Many people complained it was hard to see everything.

I was watching week to week since Season 3 & yes you are correct bro, it was so hard waiting In between seasons & episodes but what helped you get through the wait was all the memes that were going around. The memes actually made G.O.T that much better for example those 7 that went into the cold to snatch an undead became The A Team. Look up some of these memes, they are so funny yet so relevant.

The show never goes into it like the books.. in the books sams dad is considered one of the bravest men in the entire kingdom. One of the best swordsman, but more important, he is absolutely considered the greatest tactician and General of hos time. His ability to come up with plans and lead men on the battlefield had made him a living legend. Thats why everyone, including tyrion, wants him as part of their army. Tyrion advised this to his queen and thought that she would give him time to consider her offer .... knowing he would never bow out of fear. Tyrion also knew killing tarley would be a big mistake.. being he was so respected as a man of total honesty, intelligence, and bravery by nearly everyone in the kingdom... the second she burned them alive.. tyrion KNEW the people of the kingdom might fear her... but they would NEVER love her.

One thing that is consistently underestimated is the intelligence of the dragons. Especially as they age are as smart as any many wether they understand the politics of the throne or whatever theyll understand the riders motives fir war. And they'd understand mercy if she chose to show it

I’m happy for you both that you can binge the series, it was awful waiting for the next week and when the season ended we would have to wait sometimes a 1.5 years for the show to start a new season. By this point fast travel has been unlocked, ships teleport, scouts don't exist, character development no longer matters, armies and resources auto-replenish. Best to turn off the logic and enjoy the spectacle. Cersei blew up the Sept filled with nobles including their uncle, Tyrells, civilians - Tommen's queen too, no wonder he killed himself. How she is remotely being respected by anyone as a queen instead of being decried as some evil-mega Hitler monster is insane!

These are the episodes where it seems like it became really obvious that the directors/showrunners didn't have source material to work from anymore, and were writing the stories themselves. Characters began changing in weird ways with no explanation; storylines took turns that made no sense; other storylines just stopped.... seasons worth of development just gone...
