I think that is Lorraine Warrens Grandmother. ALSO, the ringing from the casket is where the term "Saved by the bell" comes from. THey used to bury people but were not sure if they were dead, so they left a bell on a string for them to ring if they wake up

This movie was set in the 50s. I believe Ed and Lorraine were teenagers in the fifties or sixties, so Irene would more likely be a cousin of Lorraine’s. Also Irene is a nun and wouldn’t ever marry or have children, so Irene couldn’t be her grandmother now that I think about it lol

Abel Korzeniowski’s musical score for this movie is one of my favorite parts. It’s creepy, suspenseful and downright chilling. I love the use of the male throat singing in this one and I’m a huge sucker for those ominous string textures, loud brass sections and heavy drumming. Just pure intensity and dissonance. It’s not for casual listeners that’s for sure!

Fun fact: The protagonist in this film is actually the real life sister of the woman who plays Lorraine Warren in the Conjuring. Frenchie is the guy having the exorcism performed on him in the lecture of the conjuring films when Lorraine had the vision of her husband’s death.

In the timeline… Lorraine is a descendant of Irene hence the reason Lorraine is able to see visions… It goes further into detail of their family lineage in The Nun 2… B.J & Asia you two will really have to sit down one weekend and watch the entire series because it ties them together… Valek(The Nun) has even encountered Lorraine and Lorraine’s daughter well past Sister Irene’s death

You guys need to watch The Conjuring 2 as well. It ties in with The Nun and the vision Lorraine saw during Frenchie's exorcism. It shows exactly what Lorraine saw. The main order for this story arc would be The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2, The Nun and The Nun 2. It's easier to follow that way. Honestly though, everytime Asia puts her hands in front of her face like that, it just reminds me of the movie Pan's Labyrinth, that thing with its eyes in it's hands. LOL 🫣😂
