Hi Jessie! I’ve worked in the industry for a couple of years, but I have friend across different branches of entertainment including multiple people who worked at CAA at different levels from the mailroom, to assistants, to agents. I will say, when I saw the news about her signing I knew exactly what it was. That agency is going to milk her for any and everything they can get from that story and then we’ll most likely never hear of her again, especially because she’s a black creator. Sad to say, but CAA was actually the agency that had multiple black talent leave for this reason. They don’t do what they should be doing. The black performers who don’t have that problem are at a certain level and have their own personal team or production company to keep them moving and to create opportunities. Mind you this is the same reason why Taraji said she had to fire her team. I actually heard about Taraji having issues with getting opportunities 1.5/2 years prior to the color purple situation. I say that to say that if Taraji isn’t prioritized, then someone like Reesa definitely won’t (long term.)

As far as ZOLA...the film was based on the Rolling Stone article about her Twitter story, NOT the Twitter story itself. As such, the journalist, David Kushner, held the story rights to sell if I'm not mistaken. A'Ziah is listed as a writer on the film on IMDB but I think she's only listed via her tweets. I don't believe they consulted her directly on the script. She has gone on record about the film being nominated for awards and her not being invited, involved, nor nominated in the writing category alongside the screenplay writers. She said on a podcast she wasn't even invited to set until shooting was nearly wrapped. All that to say...the concern for Reesa Teesa is valid!

Ladies in your 30s, prior to even finding your mate you can check on your reproductive health with you OBGYN. Get your hormones checked, check for thyroid and fibroid issues prior to getting married. Too often we wait until we are trying to conceive and find out these problems when we can address these issues prior to marriage and be ready when that time comes. Miss Reesa told her story around her bday on Feb 15. It's barely March 8. There were only 3 WEEKS. Not enough time for her 1- to absorb how her life was affected since the viral moment 2- to reflect on what she wants for her life moving forward 3- to RESEARCH every opportunity she receives 4- to regroup and ask advice from a therapist and the people who have been in her corner before the fame I'm sure CAA told her "we work with XYZ actress". Did she drop a DM to that actress to ask on some "be real with me, sis, are you happy with CAA? Are you getting you coins or taking all your money?" I don't know, it doesn't seem to me that 3 weeks were enough time to make such long term decisions. Unfortunately, she also chose to quarantine with a STRANGER 3 weeks after meeting him out of desperation. I hope she's not repeating the same mistake. The rights to her story can potentially set her up for life as in at least $5 million if she plays her cards right. I hope she does.

I'm usually with you but if it was really 'nothing but congrats for Reesa Tessa and her deal' as you said here --> 25:10 , then you should've left it at that and provided your thoughts regarding how predatory you believe the talenting agencies to be. when you make a statement and leave it at "I have a lot of thoughts" you leave it up to people to receive that in whichever way they can...so just it's best to just say what you have to say and stand on it.
