Tomato Rice 1.5 kg baldo rice 5 tablespoons butter, 125 g 5 tablespoons sunflower oil, 50 g 4 heaping tablespoons tomato paste 3 cans tomato puree, 600 g 1 tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 2 tablespoons vinegar 650 ml hot water 750 ml hot chicken stock Add 2 tablespoons butter and sunflower oil to the pot. Add tomato paste and start cooking. When the paste starts to thicken, add tomato puree and continue . Add granulated sugar, salt, vinegar and mix. You can decrease or increase the amount of salt according to your taste. Take the tomato paste and tomato puree mixture from the pot and scrape it well. Add the remaining butter and sunflower oil to the pot. When the butter starts to melt, add the rice that you have previously soaked in warm water and strained to the pot and start frying. After the rice is slightly roasted, add the tomato paste mixture that you set aside. Add hot water and hot chicken broth and stir once. Then close the pot lid. To understand that the rice is cooked, make a hole in the middle with the handle of a wooden spoon. If the rice does not stop and falls to the middle immediately and water accumulates in the hole, it is not cooked. If the water does not fill the middle and the rice grains stay where you pushed them, it is done. Cover it with a clean kitchen cloth, close the lid and let it brew for at least 30-40 minutes. Curry Rice 1.5 kg baldo rice 5 tablespoons butter, 125 g 5 tablespoons sunflower oil, 50 g 2 tablespoons curry 1 tablespoon salt 1 teaspoon granulated sugar 1 liter hot water, 4 cups 1 liter hot chicken stock, 4 cups Add butter and sunflower oil to the pot. When the butter starts to melt, add the rice that you have soaked and drained beforehand and fry. While the rice is roasting, add curry, salt and granulated sugar and mix. You can reduce or increase the amount of salt according to your taste. When the rice is thoroughly roasted, add water and hot chicken stock to the pot and mix. Close the lid of the pot.

This is such a fun video - all your videos are great and you make me want to try making all your recipes! I am an expat in Turkey and when I first came here I didn't get why this dish was so popular as I thought it's just chicken and rice. Then I tried it and it is really delicious. That was a wonderful video, you are right it's very tough out there. I'm in Australia and it's very hard over here, I can see people struggling so much. Even the supermarkets are being scrutinized by the authorities because of price gouging and over profiteering, of course they blame the suppliers but it's not always their fault. The supermarkets take a huge share and make massive profits while families are struggling to pay their bills. Anyway it's good that you gave away your money and tried to help others too

Huge thumb up to all street workers everywhere in the world. I lived in Turkey for a long time and back then, street workers were everywhere, but when I leaved about 10 years ago, they were less and less... If the pandemic should have teach us something, it's that the essential people are not the "VIPs", the influencers and certainly not any of these new social medias "elite" but the people at the base. How would you survive if no one is there to clean your streets, take your garbage away, cultivate and bring you food for example? We should respect them and be grateful of the work they do daily. Just because you weren't born with a silver spoon in your mouth doesn't mean you are less important or less human. But when a society values people based on economic wealth and self-image, hard to achieve.... Neyse, kolay gelsin
@RefikaКүн бұрын
Thank you for sharing such a deep and thoughtful comment! 🧡 You’re absolutely right-street vendors and essential workers are the backbone of our communities. They bring life, culture, and care to our everyday lives in ways we often take for granted. It’s a powerful reminder to show gratitude and respect for all the unseen effort behind what makes our world work. Thank you so much for your kind words and perspective! ✨🙏🍴
