Definitely going to add a fill nipple to a 88g bottle, I love my fusion 2, but like the airjavelin I want to shoot it in the winter. Thanks for the video

Wow, Good job Sir. Recently purchased a Fusion 2 and am already tired of paying for CO2 cartridges. Liked and subbed. Will be converting to air from CO2 as I have a compressor for filling my PCP also both recently acquired. Don't have a lathe but will build a jig for my drill press to rework the empty cartridge, Would like to go a step further and install a gauge on the adapter, Thanks for the pointers

Really nice job on the adapter in the 88 gram. I did something similar with a remote extension, QD nipple in an ASA adapter in a 88 gram adapter, and used a 13/3000 HPA bottle reg'd to 800 psi. Yours is a lot cleaner set up. I wanted to go your route, but no lathe for me.

Have used a converted 88g using the same method for years just remember not to use air over 850psi better for co2
@kidpellet65444 жыл бұрын
In the case of the co2 airguns that use the 88 gram I dont see an advantage to raising the pressure without modification to the airgun like a stiffer hammer spring. I actually lost around 10 fps with my Air Javelin and Gauntlet pcp bottle conversion. Its factory set at 1100 psi instead of 850. Now if I could add a check valve to the other end so it could be filled OFF the gun lol. You could refill a few of them and carry them with you. However, I only know one way to get the empties to convert and that's to start with a new one lol. At around 25 bucks for two that's going to get expensive in a hurry lol

I did. You can also get a 10mm fill port but its straight shank not tapered and not suitable for an application like this
@williamhogg78302 жыл бұрын
I think you are forgetting something. The reason they are called 88/90 bottles is because the (C02) weights 88/90 grs. It needs to be weighted as it is being filled! How are you going to do that with the gun attached?
@kidpellet65442 жыл бұрын
I fill several size co2 bottles up to 24 ounce and unless i freeze the bottle first I can't get them full anyway so, I just fill it until it will not take anymore. If you wanted to check one in this configuration you could get yourself a "cow saver" from Umarex and weight it before and after filling. Probably not going to get 88 or 90 grams in it anyway even if you freeze it. I never have anyway.

88g co2 is factory 800psi or more? @@kidpellet6544
@unclenemononame2 жыл бұрын
This is driving me crazy. I have a Sig MPX. The adapters a.) for removing and and later re-attaching without losing CO2. Yup on Amazon. 12g adapter for 88g yup. 2x12g to 88g yup. I love this video, only I have no room for that nipple..unless i could extend the polymer gun stock. 3D print it? I don't have one. SO, my real question is why on earth has no one created and sold an 88g cartridge with an INSET one-way valve at the end, and a one way valve built into the front threaded end? I know the response. Selling those 88g cartridges for $8-$12 each. But someone would make a fortune selling something like that in 2 or 4 packs. And we the user could just buy a huge restaurant type CO2 container, and we would have refills for pennies and Soda Stream refills for less than a dollar! to boot.
@unclenemononame2 жыл бұрын
This leads to another question. My understanding is that CO2 is liquid at 850-900 PSI at ave temp 68-80 degrees. The pressure stays the same until there is no more liquid CO2 left. That drop off at the end is when the liquid is gone, its the remaining gas . SO, why do they not recommend storing CO2 in PCP Airgun storage tanks when PCP uses air at pressures up to 3,00 PSI? Wouldn't an aluminum or carbon fiber tank rated for 3000 PSI or more be fine with 900 PSI of CO2???
@kidpellet65442 жыл бұрын
A shorter refillable co2 tank could be made from aluminum so it would fit your airgun but would be expensive. It would pay for itself in the long run though for sure. They do a lot of this in the Philippines for custom airguns. As far as storing co2 in a PCP tank its totally safe. Benjamin Discovery's and Gen1 Marauders were sold as "Dual Fuel" as used either air source. Your right about saving money by refilling with a large co2 canister. I use a 20 lb canister to refill my co2 stuff with. It's the cheapest way

@@unclenemononame I just read this again and now I understand your problem. I think you could try this adapter I found on ebay. @kidpellet65443 жыл бұрын
You can buy a bike tire co2 inflator from Walmart owner days. Never heard of a factory co2 tank of any kind exploding. It would have to be extreme heat or maybe altitude. One day I'm gonna pressure test the ones I've made by pressurizing it with high pressure air. Just not real soon. Work keeps me busy these days and I need to build an adapter to hook up to my SCBA tank and a sand box in case the tank fails
