I REALLY admire how he took his time finding the right space and spot for the entry point of the industrial. I believe that's what makes or breaks the overall time span of an industrial piercing. I believe other piercers don't always take their absolute time with the placement since the skin will move.

how is he gonna claim to be super sanitary and professional when he uses the same needle twice and gave her that short of an industrial bar?
@tinkerbell7914 жыл бұрын
Exzctly! That bar was way too short. Some people swell more than others. I had to go back after 2 days to get a longer bar. Even being fully healed, I don't wear the average industrial bar. I don't mind, only can't find anodized in 45mm, but I did find a super nice internally threaded bar.

@chick1654 жыл бұрын
Also her hair should NOT be touching the needle or the skin. Her hair should be completely swept out of the way. In the medical field this would be a serious contamination. Her dirty hands touched her hair several times before she even stepped foot into that shop. Then that sterile needle swept all those germs into her piercing. Not cool.

I'm honestly surprised he offered to do the lobe piercings at the same time. I pierced my own upper lobe at home (with sterile tools and practices, of course) and it was completely fine. Granted, lobes heal much better than cartilage. So many different factors come into play: the material of jewellery, aftercare practices, your own immunity, how often you wash your hair and pillow cases, whether you have animals in the bed with you at night, luck, etc etc.

With industrials it can be done with one needle or 2 separate ones, its down to the preference of the professional. The angling will always be the same if it is measured beforehand There is no risk of contamination or infection from the needle passing through twice. The only issue is the needle becoming the tiniest bit blunt but it doesn't make a difference, its still sharp. You don't see surgeons changing the needle after every stitch because it is still sanitary when used on the same person. Come on people. Piercings can be done multiple ways. I do however agree the industrial bar is too short. As for it being 4 piercings, lobes heal really fast due to the blood flow to the area, only the industrial really needs to be worried about as healing is an absolute bitch for them. If it was an industrial, a tragus and a lobe then I would say it's worrying.

BUT whatever they think facts wont convince them....

I just love the KZbin piercing critics. As a piercing artist of 22 years with tens of thousands of piercings under my belt some of these comments blow my mind. The forward helix and helix are the softer of the cartilage in the ear so the chances of dulling a tri bevel needle is slim to none... it's not like piercing a "tragus or daith" (as commonly called) of which is extremely dense cartilage that would have a greater chance of dulling. So with that being said there is absolutely nothing wrong with this process. Fine job Refinery29 and keep up the good work

@@saffyjade2684 i don't know the standard tbh . i specifically asked for 2 needles and piercings because after doing some research, i realized most of the time it swells a lot, and they told me they usually only use one needle for that piercing. but yeah, they should know how to angle the piercing.

It's totally worth getting it! I had mine done about a year ago and I still love it till this day and it didn't hurt! It really looks cool and recommend it everyone to try it. Mine started to not hurt as much till 4 months in since i got both of my ears done at the same day (don't do that my piercer didn't care about doing it the same day) but it's all good now! When I went to get mine done the piercer said that pain wise it’s just above medium on the pain scale but for me being someone who has a really low pain tolerance and being prone to passing out because of needles found that it hardly hurt as much as he said it would obviously I know that might not be the case for you and everyone has different pain tolerances but yea I actually found the whole experience quite fun

The piercing itself wasn’t too bad. The popping of the cartilage was definitely weird. The healing process is the part that sucks the most. It takes a while to heal and the first few weeks are rough, especially if you’re a side sleeper.

When mine was doing the same thing my Doctor said it is probably because I am bumping it and irritating it and that I could be rubbing at it during the night so it would be fine one day and irritated the next. Yours could be a totally different reason but it might be worth having your nails short and going to sleep with plaits done over your ears and see if that makes a difference. Hopefully you are all healed up soon. 😊
