You sound like you have a really rational approach to strength training for athletes. I was a Division 1 wrestler and our lifts were so intense throughout the season that I felt it really limited my ability to perform at 100% and took a toll on my overall motivation to train. I then lived at the Olympic Training Center for a few years and couldn’t believe the difference in approaches. Much more manageable workload that took into account upcoming competitions. Great video!

I think it helps when a coach can feel the demands of the sport first hand, and is actually present at skills practice to see what goes into a fight camp. Load management is crucial at this point
