Brother MFC-J4410DW: How to Clear the Ink Absorber Full Message/Error

In this tutorial we show you how to reset the purge counter on a Brother MFC J4410DW. This is commonly used to resolve the "Ink Absorber Full" or "Ink Absorber Almost Full' message/error on the Brother MFC J4410DW.
Whilst this reset has been performed on a Brother MFC J4410DW, this procedure can be performed on many other Brother inkjet printers with a touchscreen display. If it worked for you, please let us know in a comment below.

MFC-J4510DW here. Says Ink Absorber Nearfull. So I followed another guide to wash it out and dry it. Reassembled, just need to clear the warning. The Purge count is already 0. How do I reset the NearFull warning?

I have a brother MCF-J5520DW and whenever i went into maintenance mode it said "machine error46" I was still able to go through to reset process to reset the absorber pad but im not sure what machine error46 means and am curious to find out.

same error on MFC-J4410DW, it still complains about ink absorber being near full but now it prints.

@@danikim235 I took the printer apart removed the ink absorber and washed it in the sink. I let it dry for a few days put it back together and it works fine no issues.

@@danikim235 honestly if you have a stainless steel sink and some gloves youll be mess free. I was prepared for a mess as well but found out the ink just comes right out of the pad and washes down the drain.

@@ovenheating9482 I'm very clumsy and somehow manage to stain my hands with ink each time I change a cartridge, so there will probably be some mess ;) but I will try it regardless, thanks for the tip about the stainless steel sink! My dumb ass would probably try cleaning it in a bath tub 😅

Worked my way through to *28664 and nothing

You must type in 2864, not 28664. The speaker pronounces the 6 twice, but typed it in only one time ( sorry my english is not so good ). It worked, but i got the message : ink absorber pad almost full. After typing on the red cross i could print again. Now, after 2 1/2 month I had to repeat this procedure a second time. It works, but i don´t know how long it will work this time.
