Lots of videos on this product. Always the vent, BUT what about the returns?!

We have two videos on the air returns. Check out our page👍

Looks like Envisivent design would be better than this. What do you think?

Will it obstruct the flow of air and back pressure the system because of its smaller open surface area ?
@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
Great question! Unfortunately it really depends on who you ask. According to Aria Vent, they meet code requirements. Lots of people have other opinions, however. We consult our HVAC technician to ensure the system can handle them before installing, but we've never had an issue.

@Silver Shamrock yeah I'd have to feel it at somebody else house before I sell it to a customer

great product. DEFINITELY not "easier" than the Aria Vent.

Interesting! We much prefer mudding in the ABS lite beads to the metal ones- the one piece mud bead makes for an easier compound application compared to the metal bead with disconnected corners, and the glue and staple technique doesn’t require studs/joists/blocking (and doesnt warp the frame when done improperly). To each their own 👍

I'd love to have something like this, but I have a semi-exposed duct with the register around head level, so I'm not sure on how noticeable the spackle will be.
@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
hmm, sounds like this might not be worth the investment in that scenario. Maybe look into having the duct adjusted before making any changes to the appearance 👍

@@RefreshHomeImprovements It's covered with drywall, but it's a rectangular vent along the ceiling. It's right next to the top of the door frame (might be an issue changing that out)

Doesn't this seriously restrict air flow?
@RefreshHomeImprovements4 ай бұрын
Great question. It is a heavily debated topic, but the short answer is yes. Aria/Fittes list the air flow specs of their various models on their website, and recommend sizing up to avoid any issues. We always recommend you check with your HVAC professional before making any changes to your system. In most cases changing a few vents won’t make a difference, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry 👍

this is a how to video on eliminating airflow

THIS!!! Welp, bye bye airflow!!

If anything it would concentrate the flow not eliminate. Another now it all that doesn’t know anything.

Seems like anyone this detail oriented (guilty!) would be driven nuts by the 3’ mud mound with slightly off-tone white paint.
@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
😂 not to worry, I can assure you, we’re just as fussy. The ABS is only about 1/8” thick, and when the mud is sanded down, we promise you won’t notice a “mound” at all. As for the paint, you should hit the entire thing with the same stuff you’re using on the rest of the ceiling (we paint the inside of the register as well) 👍

As a mechanical engineer and mechanical contractor, I would not recommend these vents as you cannot open or close the vents to adjust for heating or cooling.

They sell dampers for this exact purpose

Smooth ceilings are fine, but knockdown ceilings would make this even more of a pain in the ass lol.
@renaissanceman858111 ай бұрын
People with knockdown ceilings don’t deserve nice things like this.

Do not install these registers in your home as they dramatically reduce the airflow out of the register, which can damage your comfort equipment. It is advisable to consult with a professional HVAC technician to understand the impact of reduced airflow and increased static pressure on your comfort system.

Most ceilings have texture . Not as easy as you are showing .
@RefreshHomeImprovements2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if ‘most’ do- but you’re right, these might not be the right choice for a textured ceiling 👍
