He sings from his essence with his eyes closed and I’ve heard it at least 10 times, bought the single and will be voting Sunday. Rodney said he was born to sing and he knew his son. The name of the guy who did the guitar is Sam Mangakahia a Māori artist from NZ who is a master carver and designer of cultural artifacts. He wanted to do something for Iam and collaborated with him and then this beautiful work of art was born

I truly don't know how American Idol will ever top this. People around the world have stayed at the edge of their seats watching/listening to him and all the while networking with others and making new friends. It is a beautiful thing. The pattern on the guitar is a combination of the 2 cultures of his lineage. It’s a combination of the Tongan 🇹🇴 kupesi (design patterns) and Samoan 🇼🇸 design patterns. Iam also has Irish ☘️ lineage. But I think the guitar was made by a man from Aoteroa (nka New Zealand 🇳🇿) who lives in Hawai’i, if I’m not mistaken. Iam has aligned most of the Pacific Island stars as one 👍🏽👍🏽. The mana (power) of people of the moana (ocean)

After a careful observation of the carver’s design, I observed additional details. The Kanaka Maoli (Hawaiian) design pattern on the guitar tying it back to Iam’s birth place Kahuku, Hawai’i. The carver also added Abalone she’ll mostly found on the coast of NZ, Australia, South Africa, Western North America and Japan. Abalone shells are believed to bring guidance and calm emotions. I see the wave 🌊 representing the moana (ocean) and the carver Sam put Iam’s dad’s name “Rodney” in the middle of the guitar tying it to Iam. Beautiful carving and very intentional.

I swear I subscribed from the beginning of y’all’s first reaction of IAM. You guys have such a genuine reaction! I hate seeing people cry but I resonate with the worlds tears because of IAM I know I’m healing because of him. I lost my dad from the same thing it was rough seeing my dads body giving up on him and he was the provider for all 5 of his women. Mom passed a year before dad and dad went away for a bit to live out some of his dreams before passing. We were actually supposed to come home but he didn’t get to make it home.
