First time riding a 2003 Kawasaki ZZR600

Today on the vlog, I finally got that bike I talked about in a previous video, a 2003 Kawasaki ZZR600. After spending about two weeks on parts and fixing it, (replaced stator cover and charged battery) I take it out for a spin for the first time. Man this thing is a far departure from Fiona. Scared me a bunch of time in its power delivery and lightness. Oh and don't worry I still have my Kawasaki Nomad so you will see videos of me riding it soon. Just bought this as my first bike ever, never ridden before but I’ve been out on it to get a feel and although I know nothing about bikes it’s plenty scary but has an awesome feel, I couldn’t be happier just need to get more confidence with turns at slow speeds as I really struggle with that. Awesome video though the way you get excited in first gear is the way I am the whole ride 😁 I can’t smile any wider 🏍

@@soulkiss7297 dont buy one as a first bike. Its way too big. I started on a zzr600 and it was terrifying. I promise a 250 or 300 is plenty for your first bike. they will teach you how to ride properly, and a 600 will not. the zzr600 has like 95 horsepower and its way too much. please please please get something smaller. I love the zzr600 but theyre always gonna be cheap. buy one as your second bike. not your first.

@@ryannewton4997 ridden a ninja 250 then bought a zzr600 for my first bike. Best decision I could a made. If you don't have experience on the 250 and you think you can't handle it/and or your not confident then maybe don't get it. If your a boss do😎😎 awesome bike handle amazing.

It's a nutter bike in sheep's clothing. Had a 94 myself, did 130 mph (when there were no cameras around) and there was plenty more power still to come. I actually want to get another one because I love these bikes.

Man you seem to have a really bad habbit, USE KEY TO TURN OFF ENGINE, red switch is only for emergency use, and anyway at the end you have to turn the key off to turn off lights and rest, so why bother using the red switch in first place, it only increases chances of forgetting to turn key off and drain (kill) battery.

8k miles isn't bad compared to the bike one of my dads buddies that they just bought recently with almost 94k miles on the original engine for $800 and it works like a charm.

+ReggiewithTwoGs well, this bike probably half the weight of the cruiser. Try using the back brake to slow or stop the bike at a slow roll to see the effectiveness. On a big 700+ pound that rear brake might have more of a brake rotor than this one...but,,,I am no expert. I've never owned a high RPM bike either., sounds sweet!

Thanks man. It's been dropped but I was surprised when I washed it how clean it came out. The paint on the tanks pretty good except for a point where the bar ends hit the tank for some reason. In much better shape that my first bike and I got a great deal on it. As long as I don't kill my elf with the make me smile throttle.

This bike is NOT the same as the ZX6R, the 2004 ZZR switched to the old zx6r but the one he's on is the old dinosaur ZZR, totally different.

I loved my ZZR. A bike of two halves for sure. The bottom of the rev range was very sedate (almost boring) but above 7000rpm it becomes an absolute madman.

The problem with them is 70mph (the UK speed limit) falls right at the bottom of the power-band in top gear, so the bike was constantly goading my to go faster. I would settle in at 70mph and it would gently creep up without me noticing. I'd look down and see I'm doing 90mph without meaning to.

Thanks for the comment. As for the spazzing out, this was my first time riding a 600cc sportbike. I'm use to riding big V-twins I didn't think the difference in acceleration would be that much. I would love to try a newer 600cc to see the difference, I've sat on R6 and they are way lighter than this bike. And even a old dinosaur is a fast dinosaur. ;-)

you seem like a speed "virgin"...I've gone 209 m.p.h. on a modified 99 Hayabusa 9 years ago and had many "turbo" bikes over the years...its funny seeing your reaction to the bikes performance...your 600 would be like a little toy to me..but its all about your "experience" level I guess ..anyway... ride safe and have FUN!
