You have to buy cracked techstream software and a USB to obd2 cable, often sold as a kit

I bought the USB to OBD2 cable on Amazon and it came with the software. Alternatively if you Google it you can find it for download. There are some KZbin tutorials on it to follow along with.

That's true, that's another video for another time. But basically it's a usb to obd2 cable that you can find on amazon, and the cracked techstream software that the seller usually provides.

Yes, it was used when I purchased it. But the ebay seller reset it or something so that it worked the exact same as a brand new key fob.

Hi. why do I need the laser key cut I am not clear about this. If my battery dies what it has to do with the key cut, does it plays a roll in my car when my battery dies? can you help me. Thanks

You'll need your key laser cut so that in the case of your 12v battery dying, you can manually unlock the door to access the hood release. Which from there you can use jumper cables to power your car up from there. Could you go the entire life of your car without ever using the laser cut key? Sure, but it's so easy to get the key cut, it wasn't a risk I was willing to take.

Does the trunk button do anything when pressed? I know on some remotes it says A/C there.

It doesn't do anything on mine, but you're right that some priuses have the AC button in that location.

unfortunately it's not something you can do yourself. You may be able to send it in to get it returned to "virgin status" though.
