Particularly for people that have elevated Lp(a) - spending time everyday in a catabolic state may well be an important intervention. The understanding of LP(a) - that is a LDL that carries APO(a) to the site of a tear, where the APO(a) takes the place of plasminogen in forming blood clots. The difference is that blood clots made with APO(a) are difficult to reabsorb and this is likely the reason that high Lp(a) is associated with bad CAD cases. My hunch is that in the catabolic state that one gets with 18-6 fasting, may well help remove Lp(a) clots that would otherwise get paved over by new intima and become plaque. I'm wondering if it is the insulin level that is involved in this? Spending time in the catabolic state has other benefits, removal of sentient cells that could become cancers - thus likely extending life-spans. The treatments for Lp(a) by niacin do not appear to work. I would propose a new system: - Life long platelet reduction therapy - carefully keeping Testosterone in a healthy range (reduces Lp(a) and increases muscle mass) - and 18-6.

One thing that is very important to think about is Family of origin and the spiritual aspect. How the person''s parents are and and also if they to comfort Or if the Mother and/or Father gave the child food to satisfy and calm

Dr. Ali, this was fascinating information! Thank you so much for taking the time to present it to us. I would really like to hear more about how these chemical compounds affects not only appetite and the digestive system, but how it might affect heart function and energy production. There is a lot of discussion about hunger and weight loss, but not enough about the body’s electrical system, energy, and sleep/rest/rejuvenation… specifically things like takotsubo cardiomyopathy, A-fib, PVC’s, etc. Hoping that we can change more than weight and blood pressure with changing our way of eating, exercise?

I only got part of this but my method is to go over and over a subject and absorb it that way. Less strain on the brain. I know enough to know bitter is good. I can now load up on greens, turnip, mustard, collards and Brussel Sprouts! Yum! I do eat dark chocolate, no sugar. It's good to know I can indulge my taste buds and it won't ruin my figure! 🤣

I was with you right up to Brussels sprouts! If God wanted you to eat Brussels sprouts, HE WOULD HAVE MADE THEM EDIBLE!!!! You want bitter? 90% dark cacao! Wait! Before dinner is best? But, Mom, it will ruin my tofu and soybean salad!!!

you can cook pasta and rice in coffee 🤣 or you add magnesium sulfate, which is non toxic in the needed amount, or you check out Japanese and Korean kitchen... they have some bitter vegetables or you cook "Hopfen" flowers, just one, with rice and pasta or you cook fresh artichokes with rice and pasta... btw all asteracea have the same chemistry, and are bitter, yet, you have to consider that bitterness has been evolved to detect alkaloids, which are poisonous to us bon apetite !

interesting analysis and discussion... As we transition our food intake, I find that my tastes have changed and become more sensitive, with a bias to more bitter preference. Maybe this is the norm once we remove the effects of sweet.

Very interesting presentation. Low calorie sweeteners are not all the same. so I wonder if they all have the same effect in terms of stimulating the hedonic response. I intermittent fast & have 3 cups of coffee before I eat breakfast. I put a little pure stevia extract & heavy cream in my coffee & I learned that the polyphenols in coffee are more readily absorbed when using heavy cream.

Without adding a sweetener, coffee is bitter. I always thought it was the caffeine in coffee that suppress my appetite but maybe it has always been the bitterness.

everything increases the risk of obesity if you eat too much of it. Yet, a high-fat diet without any carbs can indeed be dangerous, since insulin is necessary to handle fat appropriately ... see his video on lipid toxicity Different from that, if someone wildly switches between HF and HC, or LF and LC respectively, you have to consider that after some period of time in high fat mode, the body down-regulates the usage of glucose,hence it is KIND OF insulin resistant. Same is true for fasting. Carbs have to be started slowly. Now if you won't consider that, all the glucose from the carbs will go into fat, directly, and causing damage.
@AI-vs7sm

What are you babbling about? The pancreas produces enough insulin to handle the 5 grams of glucose that is maintained by the liver! Unless you are T1D, you have sufficient insulin to do the job. The body is not down regulating glucose usage,. Without carbs in diet, the body is in homeostasis, it doesn't have to down regulate anything. No carbs, no problems! See how that works?
