Brendon Chen is a man of many trades. He’s a jewelry designer, an artist, and also a stage performer. He also founded The Escape Artist 10 years ago hoping to allow more people to experience their own creativity and let workers from all different areas of expertise change their ways of thinking all while experiencing different possibilities in working together as part of a team.
After returning from Milan, Brendon discovered something he’d never noticed before. Taiwanese people are very unconfident in their own creative abilities. Many people have stopped believing that they can change, stopped believing in the value of innovation, or stopped believing in their dreams or anything that is not sure. Society has become a place where people dream big, but they live in a way that guarantees stability and safety. He hopes to do something from the basic step of changing people’s experiences and ways of thinking perceptually to letting them be able to understand these old ways of thinking and where they came from as well as how to change them rationally.
All industries have been hit by the effects of the pandemic in 2020, and things look like they will continue to drag on for a while with some experts saying that it will never end. In a post-pandemic age, there are a lot of things we need to relearn, ways of doing things that need to be redesigned. How can we as people begin to adapt? Can we discuss everything in just 18 minutes? Could it be that the problem isn’t really all that complicated and frightening? Could it be that the answer was actually in your heart all along?
