One important thing is language. It should not be the responsibility of the South guy to understand and learn Hindi. Even a North Indian should not be confused if he or she is suddenly confronted with the South Language. But this is easier said than done.

Way forward is to implement the 1946 cabinet mission plan where power rests with the states and center only in charge of defense, communication, currency and foreign affairs.

Already every state behaving like a country where regional parties, family parties rule as there won't be any one superior to discipline dictatorial leaders like a Mamta, a KCR, a Stalin, a Jagan, CBN. Unless someone superior who could discipline that exists generally in ruling party ( a bad CM or any other leader could be removed by whether it's Khangress or BJP or any other natinal party). It's not the case with family and regional parties. AP bankrupted under present CM but no one to utter a word except opposition which, of course, he doesn't care. Had it has been a national party he could have been replaced as happened during congress times and now under BJP,sir. It's not good for unity of the country. You are in your anger against BJP, Tharoor etc advocating such powers. Then it becomes union of countries not states. Already we are suffering giving such status to Kashmir. Had it been Khangress these people could have wanted things happen quite opposite way.

Fantastic discussion. It gives lots of insights about southern view of Indian federalism. These inputs should be discussed / debated in larger group. I am sure, north view would be much different from this. Hope few points were clear to other Indian states on Hindi and NEET issues why TN view is different. Once upon a time, India was ruled east Indian company. its ruled by North Indian company now.

Please don't raise the NEET issue. You do not understand the kind of uniformity NEET has created. Board exams can never be the means of allocating seats of higher education. Board exams are subjective exams. Thus, the marks given per question as well cannot be objectively justified. It will be subjective to opinion. NEET is really beneficial. Ask any medical aspirant of your state and he'll tell you why?. Do some research of your own please.

A question for the Minister if Tamilnadu is good at their place why ask money from Union government through media. Similarly any welfare scheme introduced by the Union govt should be restamped with DMK on it. The kind of federalism these regional, family parties is most dangerous for the unity of the country. The body will be best and thus like of individual if all parts are healthy and work in coordinated manner not every part doing it it's nothing to do with other parties of the body. Every state is a country in itself until 356 imposed. Modi not did through fear of being criticised though required in some states. If so what more they want!?. Centre seeing helplessly when WB was burnt post elections, when MVA under Udhdv doing witch hunting, when states like AP bankrupt by giving freebies by borrowing and it's same with Punjab, TS, Kerala reportedly. That's why they speak about federalism with more powers. What's happening in TN also and what will be it's position after 5 years if it implements all promised (free)!? All states and centre should work in coordinated way not confronting, abusing one another for politics of power. What the hell were KCR of TS cooments on stone throughing on Vande Bharat trains, on accidents!? Not saw how Stalin and his ministers arrogance!?

How stupid one has to be to further their political agenda: The fundamental principle of a democracy is that every citizen has equal right and opportunity to perform in a federal/state structure. Having said that, what Mr. Thiagarajan said that since I am a citizen from a rich state, Federal Govt. should give me more money, this violate the principle of economic equality in the eyes of Federal Govt. to its subjects. Not keeping a total fertility rate to a replacement rate is the biggest crime a state can do to its own people: Japan and China are the living examples of this.
