I've said this before on another video. I'm hoping this group sees this comment and takes it to heart. I kid you not. This assemblage could be the next supergroup. Like the Beatles, every member is overflowing with talent. Everyone can sing, and at least two of them can burn up a guitar if they need to. They always do excellent covers of whatever they choose to cover. The original songs they write are unique and amazing for their concepts and imagery in the lyrics. Separately, they are wonderful, as a foursome, I believe they could have a huge impact on the future of music. Just my 2 cents.

@@theflyingdutchman787 Let me tell you at one time bands played without onstage monitors and soundmen, it created an atmosphere totally unlike the perfect reproduction associated with what you hear off your music system-whatever that may be. A rawness if you like which was totally unlike the often sterile live shows you see nowadays.......soundmen who the fuck needs them anyway-its possible to get a reasonable balance without them- history shows that , just remember your ticket prices are inflated by all the 'extra ' crew that are required to put a show on the road nowadays. Only my personal opinion , but let me tell yer'all i'm not the only one who feels that way.

@@theflyingdutchman787 They are pulling the sound off of the boards and it hasn't been "mastered." The slide probably was plenty loud in the venue but was lower at the board. You will see this alot in live music where the drums aren't miked at all. You hear the board audio and you hear no drummer at all. It happens.

This cover gets better and better - I've now seen a few versions, but for sheer raw enjoyment, this one is the best. Gerry will be looking down on you and saying that this is one of the best covers of one of the best songs I wrote - God rest his soul. He was a friend of mine back in the 1970s, and I was at the first Stealers Wheel concert sitting with Billy Connolly.

Gerry was a friend of mine back in the 1970s and I was at the very first Stealers Wheel concert in City Hall in Glasgow (this was the first incarnation of Stealers Wheel, just Gerry and Rab Noakes - Joe Egan had not yet joined), and I was sitting on a window ledge facing the stage, along with Billy Connolly.

I quit recording songs on live shows. I just took two photos during their show in Lüneburg, Germany. You can't really enjoy these pure moments when holding your mobile up high the whole time. It's my moment and I want it to share with the rest of the audience and the band, of course.

I knew there had to still be some talented people out there that could sing with their clothes on. It’s kind of a shame that truly talented people don’t get to the top anymore. They are still out there though. Because of this video and the other ones that has led me to I have discovered some talented people I’ve never heard of. Allison young, Morgan James, Reina del Cid, Josh turner, postmodern jukebox, and more. Funny thing is I came here thinking this was Gerry Rafferty or Stealers Wheel performance. I was a little disappointed at first when it wasn’t, that went away very quickly

I don't come from an instrument background, so unfortunately I lack the experience and skill to tell a good guitarist from a bad one. I do, however, come from a vocal background, and I'm always impressed with Carson's ability and willingness to adopt all kinds of particular accents and affectations to his competent but nondescript voice to suit the song. Now that's a musician.
