Every time I read, about anyone, "He lived his life the way he wanted to live it", and then who died from alcoholism or drug use, I have to laugh No, mate, he didn't. He lived the life of an alcoholic. Nobody chooses that life It happens, because of genetics and/or childhood experiences. But, no, he didn't live his life the way he wanted to live it. He lived the life he ended up living

@@michaelbarkerjr7333 You need to stop shouting in your posts. "actually"..... And you also need to do some research, rather than rely on smug holier-than-thou declarations about 'fault'. I work with street people addicted to alcohol, crack, opiods, etc. None of them "chose" the hell they're living in. So, get off your morally superior high horse, do some research, go and volunteer with your local soup kitchen or shelter, make time to talk to those people, and learn how very wrong you are.

If you ever confused “Stuck in the Middle With You” with a Bob Dylan song, then mission accomplished: The tune was meant as a Dylan parody. The lyrics themselves - think, “Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right” - were intended to represent an industry cocktail party. Though the Scottish band had three studio albums and lead singer Gerry Rafferty went on to have solo hits like “Baker Street,” “Stuck in the Middle With You” has become particularly cemented in music history thanks to its placement in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs and, in more recent years, as the theme song to the Netflix show Grace and Frankie.

I still just about lose it when one of the bad guys (Mr Blonde) is dancing around with a knife after cutting off the cop hostage's ear, & then again with a gas can on way to, during, and after dousing him in gas. He looks so joyous doing so. But then again, listening to this masterpiece makes me joyous too! Definitely a priceless Tarantino movie...with most excellent music. RIP Gerry. Listened to this song when I was a kid and my brother was in a band, then as a teenager, then when I met my ex husband, up until now. I love this band, the way they use auto tune in this day and era it literally means any Joe or Jane can record a record, but bands back in the day used their God given talents, vocals and writing abilities to put forth messages that we as listeners took and made our own comforts out of. I started smoking/drinking/drugs at the age of 9 to numb my trauma and fit in, I'm around 5 years clean, for some reason I'm not one of the people who can do the "4 years, 5 months, 5 minutes, 2 seconds clean", I can't even remember the date I actually stopped dope and drinking, but I did, and most believe that you can't do it unless you are ready and do it for yourself, thats absolutely BULLSHITE as I did it for my child, because I liked being numb, not remembering, not having nightmares, not feeling but I LOVE my child more. This band and its music was there for me lots throughout my life when I needed comfort, just listening to their soothing jams gives you peace, takes you out of places you don't want to be in and puts you in amothers for as long as you want to be there. Thank you for making this beautiful music for us. Thank you for being your amazing selves everyone. Peace and much love sent from Ontario, Canada.

So a friend of mine pointed out to me a couple of days ago that the real lead singer of the song regarding the actual music video who had the guitarist Joe Egan who was lip syncing to Gerry Rafferty's vocals. I was completely confused and taken aback but he sent me the link to this video and now I see for myself. The only other two songs I've ever heard by Gerry were Baker Street and Right Down the Line so I just didn't make the connection but yeah he has a fabulous voice!❤️
