They don’t suck, you just have to fly near the ground so you don’t get melted. The boy named Icarus from Greek mythology died because he flew too high with his wings, so the wax binding the wings melted, hence why it is destroyed faster if you fly to high above the ground. But also it’s a warning not to fly too high because as well as it destroys your wings faster, you will get beamed by the lobby and die.

@@RxzerKBM literally how, if ur near the ground I’ll be guarded by natural object such as trees, bushes, hills, etc. also if u start getting shot at then u can be on the ground in less that a second and be able to box up any heal.

The wings are good for normal rotation… when there’s no one around. I think you wanna be high enough in the sky to where the visual sound effect of the wings isn’t there. Trying to use it to escape, though is a death scentence

In the Greek mythology, the wings of icarus were stuck togheter with a material that cloud melt, and the closer you got to sun, the faster it will melt. That is why more charge is getting used

I think that the either the extra hitbox needs to be removed, or the slam down that you do after you get shot needs to be removed. Combined with the glitches and exploits its a good item, but again those are very dependent on the situation, plus you would need to carry flowberry + wings, which would leave you with 3 inventory slots only. And you also need to be in builds to benefit from the super bounce and short jumps I think they need to buff its intended uses and nerf its exploits. They could make it so that the slam does damage based on distance travelled

I would t say they suck but aren’t op either, they strike a fine balance. Using them as an escape mechanism CAN be done but it takes a lot of practice, and the physics of the flight can be used to you advantage which really make them powerful, diving down to gain speed and then shooting back up and fluctuating your elevation and direction are great for fights you’re trying to reposition or escape in

Great video that was really helpful. I totally agree that the wings are sometimes useful especially with the flow berry fizz effect. They are great for early game rotates to 1st to 3rd zone, however they suck in two situations (in my opinion) one when you are making a rotate away from or toward players( so pretty much anywhere in late game) its way to easy to be shot and two for high caliber lobbies that have 10 or more people in 1st moving zone because its to easy to get shot or keyed while your still in the animation. I'm excited to see what FNCS will look like with a movement that takes awhile to activate and also destroys builds on quick landings.

I made great use of them in the cash cup last night. I used the ramp over head technique dozens of times and didn’t have an issue. Like he stated it’s a skill item

Man.. even aside from all of the very technical ways to use the wings mentioned in this video, the tweet saying they're useless really is something. In playing squads with my usual group, the wings even used normally have been so very decisive. While yeah, they're big targets, in big multi person fire fights.. who's going to shoot the guy flying into the sky to reposition or divebomb, when that flyers buddies are opening fire to keep your attention off them? They're far riskier in solo play or small groups without as much cover fire to support someone using them, but in my experience in squads, they can genuinely make or break a fight depending on who has them in said fight.

I love using them in the early game. I can quickly move from location to location and it makes running from storm a breeze. I pretty much always drop them when I near the endgame though.

If you press your shoot button you’ll dash and while looking down it’s the fastest way to cancel it + it gives you a little boost when you touch the ground

I only play Zero build soooo a lot of its uses are removed in that mode. I just use them as a pocket car if I need to travel fast, or avoid fall damage, but in battle they're horrible, and the previous gunblade and mutan ninja turtles mobility items in this chapter were better, also there's two medallions now that help with avoiding fall damage. I think the shockwave grenade it's best for mobility combat as of now and Zeus & Cerberus medallions.

Another thing: is you stack Zeus’s medallion or flowberries with the wings and do a sprint jump, you can get insane distance without any damage to the wings.

Something good i found out with them is if you crack the enemy's shields or get them below 60 hp if you build 2 layers above their box and dive bomb it will kill them thru builds.

They are only good for repositioning on tall buildings in no builds. You can outplay people with shockwaves if you are careful. The opponent will be out of shockwaves eventually and will be stuck on low ground. Very cheesy way to outplay shockwaves but it’s possible.

The reason why they take more damage when your 75 meters above water is because in the story of Icarus and his father Daedalus when they escape the tower with their wings when Icarus flies too close to the sun they burn off and he falls, plunging into the sea and drowning, it wasn't just a weird quirky decision 😁

In order to use it very well you have to practice and I don’t think ppl are willing to do that, once it’s muscle memory all the cheeky ways to use the wings will be easy and can be used on the fly, me personally rn I can do all the methods on the fly whether to run away or w key and end game. It’s a good item that ppl don’t recognize so the ppl who learn it will always have advantage for the most part

They're good for rotating out of storm or in low activity locations. That's about it. Once someone pops into the sky with wings, it's a guaranteed kill.

last time i remember using them i was trying to go after someone and kept clicking my boost and i was able to keep up with the car but im pretty sure if i had enough momentum and they didint run out i would've been able to go faster than the car and full boxed and clipped the person running

Wings are amazing for moving around and adjusting position. But theyre not good to run away when in close range, as ive often caught people and deleted them from the sky trying to use it to run away. And this has happened to me before. I play no builds btw

Really good video but the wings don’t lower weight they lower gravity because the speed you fall is not relative to weight. Seeing as how switching from the wings mid-air caused you to go less far, it is not weight, but instead the force of gravity.

I’m here to say I love Zues lightening bolts! But all the items have to be played at the right time else you’ll get owned. This being said I feel like there pretty fair, I don’t use wings for reasons unless I’m trying to go fast to go reboot a team mate.

They’re legit so fun. Other games dont add wings where you can truly fly, just gliders (cough, Fenyx Rising cough, Breath of the Wild) to slowly descend. But this is REAL FLYING!!!! ITS SO FUN!! Sooo confession i did just get into fortnite BECAUSE of the lightning & wings….. I’ve learned mythics are limited time, but these are just so fun….Epic Games could make BANK from new fans by creating a separate game mode Featuring Greek Myths & Mythic items for when this season’s over. Like i’d never stop playing if they did that.

Firstly, you can dive with the wings if you have no charges left on the wings and secondly, remove zeus from competitive

Actually the first item I have seen added being perfectly balanced it have its risks and rewards while the zeus thunder bolt damage or cooldown between each strike should be nerfed a little
