Reivers are a bit of a weird one. They've always had ok rules and gear, but their point price is just too high. There's definitely play in them for individual games, but possibly not in tournaments.

Hey they're actually extremely good in first company task force with the enhancement You have them and assault terminators target the same objective it's amazing tried out guys

Thanks for the video. They're a really good-looking model/unit. I just wish they had something that made them more worth it like a +1 to wound (or -AP) on enemies that fail the battle shock or something like that.

They definitely are missing something. I would prefer them to be a 120pt unit and have better gear/rules

The Reiver LT actually limits the unit as he does not have the grav shoots(same with captain). If the unit had the rifle, pistol, and knife all at once, they would be better with some AP on the rifle and combat blade. Honestly just having all war gear on at once might make them playable.

Aye you don't get the grav shoots but you do get to utilise the scouts keyword, to use in a different manner. True, they need all 3 options together. They're pretty close to being OK.

They're good models. I usually field 1, most as action monkies or late game objective stealing

I wish they could supress enemys like the supressors and give supressors back their 9th edition rule of restricting overwatch

That would be quite nice. They need to drop battleshock abilities as they're pants, or make it so it forces the unit to be battleshocked

Before I watch the video: THEY ARE AMAZING! Basic background - Deepstrike built in for free - 6" scout move - Can ignore all vertical distances for movement - Can force battleshock tests at -1 - Not a bad price point - Good looking models - Have the right keyword under Phobos Tactics: Amazing units to hold in reserves, can enter board via deepstrike or rapid ingress IF your also playing the best detachment, Vanguard, they can now also 'uppie downie" - Deploy on board, scout 6" and help for objectives - Uppie downie for 1 CP - Come back in deepstrike next turn positioned for MOAR Points scoring They are great! Now to watch the video and see what you guys think!

The problem is they do no damage. No high strength weapon options, and no ap on their attacks outside the one pistol shot. They have no bite.

Yeah, I hear ya. They've struggled since they were launched. They really need -1ap and have the combat knife as well. The BS ability is just weak

NGL, they aren't great, but they're not un-takeable. Other units are just more point efficient

Unless they listen to the name Hounds of Morkai they arent realy worthwhile imo. (and that unit isnt usefull either) In 9nth they still had a nice gimmick which they lost.

They're not far off being OK. Points drop and pip of AP and then they could be OK late game character hunters
