I used old books with missing pages and done the same as you removing the pages. I then turned them into handbags by incorporating sides into them, sometimes using cardboard and sometimes using acetate and painted/papered/decorated the old books etc and they turned out quite good and very sturdy. I bought some readers digest books a couple of weeks ago from my favorite thrift store in anticipation for this video (4 for .99¢-I couldn’t say no). I went again today to check out their magazine stock and they had another set of 4 (.49¢ this time🤩) sitting up front like they were just waiting for me to come in. I went to check out and they lady says “man you read those other ones fast!” I didn’t have the heart to tell her their destiny lol can’t wait to get started!

The animal print with the red reminds me of clothes I used to wear to the bars in the 80’s sure would look nice on my bookshelf 😂😊

Ha, omg yes! I Remember those days. Animal prints were pretty popular. I had an animal leopard print top with bat wing sleeves. I loved that top. And I wore red shoes! Black skirt or black pants and matching red purse. It looked good at the time. Now, probably not so much. 😂 So funny about the book. It would look pretty cool on a shelf.

I am going to make this ...you have totally inspired me with the easy instructions and color choices. Just one question, it is so difficult to get the animal print to be just right. Love it! Lace in any size, pattern or colour is lovely. Good idea to give scraps to birds.... I just read before that the strings should be cut short since birds can get strangled in it.
