Relaxing Guide to Miniature Painting

Trying something a little different, I'm not entirely sure what this video is - but hopefuly it's a relaxing painting guide to miniature painting.

glad you didn't do his necklace in gold, couldn't help but notice it looks like the Millenium Puzzle from Yu-gi-oh (though of course this mini was around long before then), though the idea of a Ratman throwing cards at you in a Children's Card game does amuse me. Amazing paintjob.

Thanks, yeah it was a different type of video, id like to do more but i think i need a better camera for those close up shots but i think thats on the list would like to add these types of videos to my normal releases

I love the warpstone shard embedded in the eye socket effect you achieved with the green and highlights. Great marriage of classic model with new fluff.

I love the "Warts and all" approach to a mini painting video, it really shows that painting minis is an additive process. Try something you don't like? Lean back on your old methods. Also, the old sculpts just have a warmth and silliness to them that you don't find much anymore (except for maybe Gloomspite gitz). I think you hit it on the head when you said the details were deliberate. The cuts are so much deeper, I think than they are now. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the old method of hand sculpting vs the current method of 3d modeling

cheers bud, yeah man i think thats the way they were built, really exagerated choices in terms of folds in cloaks etc, felt more like an artistic choice vs a realistic robe. big fan of how those old minis looked, some of the old minis i should say :D some were jank

Did you ever consider Basilicanum Grey for the basecoat on the robes? I love it as a grey contrast, use it on stone bases all the damn time.
