Oddly enough, I find sirens in the distance soothing. To my mind, bad things are going to happen whether or not I know about them. Sirens mean that it's being taken care of.

Very nice, up to a point. I went to sleep with this playing on some headphones, and I woke up to the sirens fairly disturbed. The thunder and the wind against the mic sounded, to my sleeping brain, like someone banging against a door, and the dissonance of the sirens layered on top of each other left me with a horrible feeling that something was wrong.
