How nostalgic! I remember back then that we were content with little. We went to bars with friends, met some beauty and took her dancing! True, there was the Great Depression, the stock market down, problems with the health system, some racists on the streets, winds of change towards an uncertain future. I have to say that after almost a hundred years, things haven't changed much. But I can still wear a smocking in style!

It is a vote of confidence in my grandma & grandad who successfully provided for their family during these difficult times. Thank You. This brings back many memories. My Father used to listen to these old 78 records. He was a Merchant Seaman, wore the same crew cut all his life. I was a long hair. One day I come home, my Eagles album was missing along with Neil Diamonds Hot August Night, and Eric Clapton's debut album. I go to the living room, and the old boy is stretched out in the recliner, rum and coke in hand, digging my albums. My friends and I would listen to his big band records, and really got into guys like Bennie Goodman, Lester Lanin, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Cab Callaway. The old boy took my youngest brother to his first concert, Kiss and Judas Priest. He really enjoyed Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing's guitar work. Music transcends the generations.
