Very good love to see people who want to teach others how to properly handle our fragile fish

I Like the hand Trick . I normally keep the fish in the net and Keel down to the water to remove the hook and releasing. I like to say I have gotten better at making it easier on the fish in a C& R Situation . Thanks for the Tips !!! Future Live fish Matters !!!

Thanks for the video, great tips as always been. I want to add something about debarbing a hook. I have found out a technique that makes hook pretty flat. All you need is a lighter and a flat nose plier. Heat the hook point to a temperature that makes it malleable. Then use your pliers to flatten the barb. That's all. Now, you don't have to search for a barbless hook anymore.

Do you plan to fish in America any time? Washington or Oregon or Idaho would be great states to visit if you do visit.

Not in the near future unfortunately, but hopefully one day. :)

I find it ironic on some televised and YT fishing shows, the hosts talk about handling of fish and keep them out of the water for as short as time as possible, but you can see them handling it for up to a minute or more out of water.

Then you should definitely bring those concerns up with those shows.

@@@FishingwithRod they'll never look at their emails or YT video comments so why bother. Perhaps they'll be at the Sportsmen Show on the weekend and I can voice my concern directly. Thx.

Your hold your breath trick isn working, any normal person can hold their breath 1 minute and thats WAY too long. !0 seconds after the camera pointed the right way. You also forgot the temperature factor. At a certain temp they die from C/R no mather how you do it. Also didnt see anything about supporting the fish under the belly when lifting it and never lifting it by the tail or head alone becaus yoiu can damage their spine. Didnt see anything about the less time u spend fighting the fish the higher is the survival rate. Dont mather if u do correct catch and release if the fish have been fighting for 30 min or more since the lactic acid will kill the fish after a while even if it swims away.

MrKveite1 - good additions on supporting the fish and minimizing fight times. Keep them coming. The breath thing is more of a mind trick for the angler. Just by thinking about it cues most of my clients to put the fish back in the water right away. You are right 10 plus seconds is not ideal.
