This has made me appreciate my high school principal even more. She took such good care of pregnant learners. From counseling them, informing the parents, ensuring they didn't miss assignment dates and exams. Some if us judged and felt like they got better treatment whereas they have disgraced the school but as I am now an adult I understand why she was so understanding and cared about them. I'm not saying teenage pregnancy is right but we see it all the time. Watching Lebos story made me realize what other students go through. In our school you would get in trouble for making any student feel uncomfortable no matter what the circumstance.

Its hard, what simply is the truth feels like judgement to you because the truth hurts really. It's not always judgement, sometimes it's people that honestly care and love you telling you the truth, but we are humans we will always pick what we want and from the truth someone gives us we choose to pick judgement and not truth, Love has lost value, it should lie to protect your feelings instead if helping you to realise your mistake and heal. We all have sinned, the more reason we have to be our brothers keeper and be truthful as we help them walk to their healing and ours else we are harming them more...

At the rate that the youth is having sex and unprotected at it, is really scary. The number of unwanted pregnancies and later abused children is also something so scary. I had my legal abortion at a South African Hospital, I was cleaned and given counseling the morning after I spent the night in excruciating pain only to find out I am still pregnant. My baby is a beautiful and healthy 8 year old now...I guess it was not meant to be. I wish information about this was correctly shared and a follow up process was easier.

I just think it is very important to be have open communication with your kids and be open minded. It 2021 now it's not 80 or 90 for safety and protection of life let be open minded about abortion. I might not want or see myself in that situation but maybe one day your love one might be in the same situation you can be help that person to save her life. Even if your 16 yrs old is pregnant and want to keep the child let support as mother. First let start educating our kids even about abortion because when they are faced with these situations they talk to their friends than their mothers. Let be open minded South Africa. I don't have kids but one thing I learned through growing up I would have loved to be informed about things I went through as a woman e.g periods, body changing, that's when is it okay for me to date, what to expect and even when I have a committed what to do prevent so many decease and given support to use contraceptive and even knowing about infertility that I'm going through right now instead of going through all by myself. We need to change mind-set so that we can be better mothers. What you wish you talk with your mother but you can't because you know you will judge don't do it in your child life. Let stop instilling fear to innocent kids, yeeey having periods is not a curse , let just open our minds so you don't bury your child because your stigma.

To a certain extend I agree , even with rape there are measures you can take to protect yourself to avoid more tragedies. It’s a matter of being informed, and we can not blame our families for not informing us enough about such issues . I feel like you should make it your responsibility to educate yourself on certain matters . One thing I can advice ladies is to not be naive , you had sex ? Take a pregnancy test . Whether there are signs or not .You got raped? Reach out and get assistance, there are people who are more than willing to assist you without judging you . Just be informed.
