Also, the comment about wrestling fans watching racing being a stretch. That is actually a true statement. I'm from the Southeast region of the United States. NASCAR racing is huge here. And the majority of the people that watch racing also watched wrestling. Hell in the 90s it would be me, my brother, and our uncle at the dirt track on Friday night, wrestling on TV Saturday night, racing on TV Sunday, and wrestling again on TV Monday night.

Most of WCW's mid card stories were still unfolding on Saturday Night at that point which had more time to do it at the time being a two hour show. It could be ages until we get those shows on the network though to fill in the gaps of mid card stories.

Bret was absolutely right in his reasoning for not wanting to take the Powerbomb. Forward thinking was just another element of old school wrestling that lots of people didn't understand. Nash would end up going to WCW where there was no forward-thinking. Nobody there would even realize if somebody was booked to look weak in a match before going forward into another match. That kind of thing didn't dawn on anybody over there.
@alexh86134 жыл бұрын
Nash leaving for WCW had nothing to do with Bret Hart not taking a Jackknife powerbomb and everything to do with the giant pay check WCW was offering

Always found it amazing around this time that even when others were in WCW title match Hogan still managed to be the main event. Saying that though it was better than the nWo period where there was hardly any title defences on PPVs and even in the matches that Hogan was in as champion and lost the title was never on the line which they got away with not mentioning it at all until the last minute. I always wondered who would by these shows since most of the time between 96 and 98 they were mainly full of main events that were miss sold or ones that were meaningless and had little build.
