I live in PA Amish country, 90% or more of our farms are Amish(we’re Blessed bc we get all our plants & produce fresh from their fields!) but they don’t use ANY machines! None. Horse drawn everything. They work harder than anyone I’ve ever met & hearts just as big! It was really dry this year, someone tossed a cigarette out & caught a straw field on fire just as they were bailing it, wind caught it & all the families near by brought the horse & carts, bailed as fast as they could while the fire department fought the fire. They build wooden barns the same way, it’s a “barn raising” incredible craftsmanship & yes, all hand hewn lumber.

Thanks for the video. More dirt work and fixing the case track. Chet you did good getting the case hose fixed and going and dealing with the hog smell, etc. You all are doing great work on repairing the ditches so not so deep. Will make it easier with equipment getting across. Takes a team to get it done. Thinking of Nicole. Prayers of support to her. God watch over you. Thanks. Iowa farm boy from years ago.

In the mid sixty's a 4 1/2 yard Ashlin dump scraper and Farmall 706 diesel.Dad would start after wheat harvest a ditch for weeks on end, and made miles and miles of ditches over the years.He carried a lot of dirt to fill in low areas too. I remember lots of area farmers doing the same thing back then.
@garyswain52434 жыл бұрын
Track tension circuit is pressurized whenever engine is running, teed off the main hyd pump outlet if I remember right. Doing so keeps constant track tension even if a check valve leaked down while it sat. The fitting going into each track cylinder that those lines connect to has a check valve inside it, oil can't come back out of tensioner cylinder unless check is leaking by or you open the release on the outside edge of track frame. For future reference, could cap and plug affected section to get machine out of a bad spot and stop dumping oil.

@@TheGrumpyFarmer - My grandfather passed away when I was young but one of the memories I have was going to the county fair with him and he was looking at the newest tractors the local dealer had on display. The salesman happily pointed out that all their tractors now had a radio, heating, and air conditioning. Grandpa looked at him and said, "The the last time I bought a tractor from you the only option was an umbrella."
