Look at this as a positive: you have lived abroad long enough to bring the skills you have acquired living in foreign back to Jamaica to build, including schooling. Sometimes, you may just lived as a Jamaican abroad and not expanded your skills then that's a shame. Hopefully, you travelled to cities to glean ideas and opening up opportunities for the locals too including food trucks, decent buses with bus routes to take ones to and from work etc.

The reality is some people work and work, for different reasons, and coming back exhausted. However, it would be great to have a more unified voice of Repats in Jamaica and a more visible contribution, because they are contributing... 💯💎✨

I got offered a position in Browns Town to work with the school district. It is absolutely beautiful. Please let me know how the social climate, and transportation is, as I do not have a vehicle and have never spent time in that town.
@LifewiddiJamFams24 күн бұрын
We don't live in Browns Town; we were passing through! There are several community colleges and secondary schools there and it is pretty close to St. Ann's Bay and Ocho Rios. The transport from there is good. All the best as you commence your work there! Keep us posted on the how you find the area. 🙏🏾💯✨

I think Jamaicans are intelligent people so why so many of us are saying were are lazy. Stop generalizing there are hard working Jamaicans we are doing exceptionally well. My take on this topic is everyone has a right to their own opinion. If you do not want to come back stay where you are and enjoy your wealth, freedom and prosperity. Some of us are just negative and bad minded. If you check the facts some of us cannot come back, because we have no where to come. We throw stone behind us. In these countries your are there for productivity. When you can not produce you can not live off the social security, only if you have good investment. I will agree that some people have bad experiences with family or other situations in Jamaica. Where ever you are patriotic to there is crime, discrimination injustice and every ill that plague mankind. Remember, what ever naturalization or citizen status you are under. Sir, Mam you are still a Jamaican and they are not afraid to remind you. Jamfam keep up the good work do not get intimidated
@LifewiddiJamFams24 күн бұрын
People have different opinions and we respect their opinion, even if we don't agree with them. Experience are varied and we share ours. We are pleased that there are people, like yourself who benefit from it. We will press on, because Jamaica is a great place to live. Thanks! 🤩✨🎶

Why is that fellow talking so fast? The lady sound very clear. She is making sense. They need to fix up the country first though because that is the reason why people running from their country because no jobs, no opportunities nothing to look forward to.
@LifewiddiJamFams21 күн бұрын
We hadn't realised that he was speaking fast. The country does need building out. However, the responsibility is not for them; it's for all Jamaicans so we need to fix up the country. That how USA, Canada and UK gets built up. The citizens set up companies, which provide jobs and they create opportunities or invite investors in to do it. Jamaicans are beginning to do the same and more people need to realise it is not the responsibility of a they but a we! 💎💯

Take the money and leave if you smart and progressive you don't need to have money to come home some people too money minded, in Jamaica we say " Dem nuh lyke mi ! Mi nuh lyke dem" so if Dem nuh waun yuh inna dem cuntri leff y gi Dem, cho mann.

Jamaica, visit but don’t live there. The Jamaica dollar is six-tenth of an American penny, is it not?
@LifewiddiJamFams22 күн бұрын
Unfortunately many people are realising that life is not simply about chasing money (that you end up paying back in bills) and hence, they are moving to or moving back to Jamaica for the quality of life they can enjoy. Where are you watching from? 🤔🧐
@lesjean853022 күн бұрын
@ yeah, I’m watching from Florida. My Ex is from Jamaica, we used to go visit, always a pleasure to go visit, but always eager to come here in the states where the dollar is always green. I got really confused when I saw a meal at the restaurant in Kingston listed for $12,500. I thought it was US currency.
@LifewiddiJamFams18 күн бұрын
@lesjean8530 Got you! Jamaica uses the Jamaican Dollar! When you next visit remember to do the conversion and decide if you want to spend your money that way... Many Americans who move to Jamaica benefit from currency arbitrage, better cost of living and quality of life. 🎉💯✨
