I knooow adding the white was such a risky move but it turned out soo good 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I usually would leave such big steps to the next day just to make sure I'm positive that I want to to do it 😂

Aw thank you so much! 🤍✨Really?! I normally do the same! It helps so much to let your mind subconsciously work it over, Haha

HI Vic, I am so happy you share with us this set. I have been wanting to get this set so in the New year for sure. I love all the beautiful colors for a CityScape minus the grey but I can work with that. I love that you show us the mixing part..I usually mix them on paper in no particular order to see how they move. I have no Rembrandt watercolors but I do have some Van Gogh ones which are excellent. If you want to get more tubes the cheapest online store is in Spain, Artemiranda. They have huge range of Rembrandt, Rosa, White Nights and other items that are hard to find here. Merry Christmas!

Aw thank you so much for your kind words & also the tip about the online shop 😍! I really enjoyed this set. I’m also not sold on spinel grey, but I believe they included it solely if you don’t want the granulation from the black oxide, the spinel is good for those large smooth washes! Thank you for letting me know about the mixes, I’m always on the fence about including those, so I will do more in the future! If you like Van Gogh, you’ll love the Rembrandts~ They are essentially the professional grade version, more pigment, less binder! And as you know, that’s saying something because the VG is nice paint 🤩 Merry Christmas to you, too! 💕✨

It's a beautiful painting(I wish i could paint, but I can't even start on colours because of fear or something), but it doesn't work as a reflection because with the destroyed city being in the background of the face, it looks like it's behind her. Instead, the reflection should be the foreground, with some of the buildings transparently painted over her face, or if you don't want that, at least her dress. That way it'll look like a proper reflection. At least that's my opinion. It might be gibberish coming from someone who's too scared to paint.

Ahhh You’re totally right 😫 Not gibberish at all! I wish I/we caught that before I gave it to him haha. That’s a brilliant observation. I think that would have helped quite a bit! Next time I paint a reflection, I will keep that in mind. Thank you! 🥹✨🩵

You shouldn't be afraid to paint! I would suggest starting in a sketchbook if it's intimidating to you and just play around with it🙂 Do swatches and mix some colours to get a feel for the medium and then start doing really simple sketches and paint over them with no pressure for it to look good or perfect or anything. Just for you to explore with paint and see how you like to use it 😁

@@VicHollinsart it's hard cuz, like, you need a certain quantity of water, a specific brush, know the color theory, patience, there's 3 or more ways to do the shadows, specific paper... It's just too much for me :(

I understand where you’re coming from. Most of those are advanced concepts-And there’s a lot of different ways to paint so it can be overwhelming. Learning how you like to paint is a journey. When I first picked up a brush, I did not paint like this at all. So start simple! And the more you paint, the more you’ll learn, and it won’t seem so intimidating! I hope this helps 🧡
