There were some damning videos of Boettcher's cheating. Whenever he would shuffle his opponent's deck, he would peak at the bottom card and if it were a land, he would cut it to the top and then false shuffle where the top card never changed. In one example that was caught on camera (meaning he knew he was being filmed and still did it) he false shuffled 7 lands to the top of his opponent's deck to force a mulligan. And any time he shuffled the opponent's deck mid-game, he put a land on top. It was so blatant if you know what to look for, but unfortunately most players are trusting and aren't looking for the tell-tale signs such as shuffling the opponent's deck in a different style from how he shuffled his own deck, and frequent downward peaks at the cards when shuffling his opponent's deck. He would also do a false cut where he would cut cards from the middle and put them on the bottom, to give the illusion of a cut, but why would you care about moving the middle cards to the bottom -- in Magic, neither location is relevant, only the top cards.
