Have you considered adding train sound effects to any of your videos?
@GoingtotheMovies3 жыл бұрын
You know, I would love to add a horn but I’ve been sheepish about which one to choose.
@SCOTTONTAPE3 жыл бұрын
@@GoingtotheMovies your best bet is probably the Outlaw Black Train Horn, which you can get as a kit. Sheepish you may be, but with a little bit of knowledge and also knowing EXACTLY what you want, you’ll get over that quicker than wet sand through a wet sand mixer. The Outlaw Black Train Horn is a low-profile but heavy-duty horn in stealth black. Comprised of three trumpets with stainless steel diaphragms for maximum durability, all mounted on one bracket for easy fitting. Large throat design for deep and powerful sound. Trust me on this one Robert.
@GoingtotheMovies3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Scoot on Tap. I was thinking of purchasing one of those wooden ones that you blow into, but now I’m realizing any train enthusiast could ear spot that a mile away. I’m wanting to get an ultra wide angle lens next as far as gear, but the Outlaw Black Train Horn may be next in line.

Awesome video...and channel! Here's a Virginia Tech connection for you. In the Summer of '00 I was in summer school in Blacksburg going into my last semester. One of my fraternity brothers introduced us to a new friend of his sharing one of his business classes one night at Top of the Stairs. My buddies and I ended up hanging out with him for most of that 2nd summer term because he was living in his fraternity house by himself on South Main and had kegs leftover from the Spring that he needed to kick. As it turns out he was a fledgling actor that had just come off of filming two movies in Atlanta. One of which was Remember the Titans. We didn't believe him until we saw another of his films first in the theater at the New River Valley Mall, which was Road Trip with Tom Greene. He was in one of the fraternity house scenes and had a speaking role. His first speaking role came in Remember the Titans, which earned him his S.A.G. card, but most of his scene was cut for time. He was the non-player classmate that instigated the locker room fight when the team returns from Gettysburg. According to him he was paid, like, $1500 and had to do 20+ takes shoving (Donald Faison?) into the locker harder and harder. When you see the final scene, the locker is literally rocking on its hinges. I wish I could remember his name, but it's lost to time. I saw him years later on a crappy reality show on Spike TV, Blind Date. My last ever high school football game was on the field at TC (now Alexandria City), so those memories are bitter-sweet. My high school coach played in that Marshall game, and my brother interviewed Coach Yost for a grad school paper about that season; I consider him the resident expert. Make your way to DC. Lots of movies filmed up here!
@GoingtotheMovies Жыл бұрын
Wow! I remember that guy very well, haha. I definitely plan to make a DC trip again soon. I used to go up there all the time in college but haven’t been back much since. Would love to get back there for some videos!

@@GoingtotheMovies One of my fraternity brothers was cast as an extra in Rules of Engagement during Spring Break while hanging at the mall. Both scenes were shot at Ft. Belvoir. Day 1 he played a boom mic operator in court house scenes with Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones. Day 2 they shaved his head and put him in a marine uniform. He’s in line on the tarmac saluting them as they walk past. If you frame by frame both scenes you can see him. He was paid $500/day. Growing up around here I’ve literally stumbled onto movie and TV show sets. I have several on my list to record but can’t stand the colder weather!

So now we watch this movie at least once a year, it's a tradition now. "Attitude reflect Leadership, Captain"

Every band trip/field trip I took in middle and high school that used charter buses played this movie. I’ve probably seen it more than any other movie 😂 Luckily, it never gets old to me. It gets very close to crossing the cheese line at a couple points, but it mostly holds up for me!

I used to live in Decatur and pretty frequently walked thru that cemetery to get from the downtown area over to suburban plaza or the pool at glenlake park; my grandparents are both buried in that cemetery (as are several other relatives). I also had a high school classmate in the house right next to the one on superior ave; When I was a student at Renfroe Middle School a friend of mine lived 5 houses down from the house on Adams Street (used to hang out there after school quite often at the time); You mentioned not being able to see the stairs behind Druid Hills High School from google earth however you can see those stairs in google maps from the streetview off 'starvine way' by looking across the field back towards the school. Grady High School was also the filming location for many of the high school scenes in Spiderman:Homecoming
