I am still of the belief that, if a hero is only good because a *different* hero is good, the first hero isn't good to begin with. I love ball and main him full-time, but I just wish he got more than the universal health + bullet size increase. 😭

The patch was mostly a nerf for Ball since pilebriver, and fireball don't benefit from the hitbox boosts and didn't receive any compensation for the larger health pools like many other melee abilities

They don't make "good" characters anymore. They make easy, aka "fun" characters to keep the casuals playing and spending money.

My favorite gameplay loop of "do one point of dmg to the dps characters and leaving" and "slam the zenyatta and don't die". Hey at least his movement's really fun

Ball is just the most unique tank in the game. He provides so much fun as soon as you got some of the tech down. The downside of him is mostly that many players do not understand how to play around that tank, they expect a frontline, more protection and if you que up solo, you are mostly welcome to a toxic hell of games. Granted, this might be better in high rank lobby. For myself, I do have some temporary banned ball accounts XD just for being a onetrick 90%of the time, well, maybe I also reacted to all the "kys, get cancer" comments in chat. But in general, I will always play this tank since it is so rewarding if you got your game up and at least one dps that follows the ping for targets. I still think that he might benefit from a slight buff in his damage after everyone got buffed in hp. Killing brig, mercy, bap or ana as ball takes very long and it feels absolutely unbalanced.

So true, I play a lot of ball and you get plenty of people screaming at you that they don't have protection because they are used to having a rein shield to stand behind all game. Meanwhile there are 2-3 enemies looking at me while i sit in the enemy back line, creating space, distracting and doing my job and my team is losing the 4v2/4v3.

I’ve had people tell me to group up while I’m harassing their backline. Like guys what am I going to do with yall just standing around. It’s true though, I’ll play 5 minutes as ball doing all I can but people are lost when there isn’t a tank to swarm around. I’ll pick Rien for the last minute and suddenly everyone knows how that works and gets it together. But as ball I’ll have people in chat “you need to group up ball” … meanwhile I have 3 chasing me around the map - if yall are having trouble with 2 v 4, I cant help you.

The fact that it’s much easier to solo kill on Winston in most cases is crazy. and he also has bubble to block Ults and cooldowns… I just end up swapping. I love the movement of ball so much and I used to play a bit of ball in comp in OW1 but these days I can barely win. it seems hard to balance him bc you don’t want him ruining the game for supports but also he just tickles everyone right now :( def needs some love from blizzard

ball is weird. lots of times the team will just be tilted from the get go because you go ball. then it's like, complaining that they find hard to heal when you are in the backline but forgot you go around collecting health packs

He is worse this patch then he has ever been in ow history no joke even ball one tricks quit ball, chazm a top 500 ball player is still hardstuck masters and he swapped to doomfist because of how unplayable he is.

What rank are you in? In high level lobbies ball is good because you can harass the backline and distract. if you know the techs and the team knows how to survive with having ball as their tank he's an okay pick, but often in lower ranks people don't know how to play ball properly/the team don't know how to survive without him
